LEAKS WATER AND AUTOMATIC ICE MAKER IS A NIGHTMARE

DO NOT PURCHASE A SAMSUNG REFRIGERATOR THE ICE MAKER HAS NEVER WORKED TWO MONTHS FOLLOWING THE PURCHASE OF THIS REFRIGERATOR.

Do not buy

Ice maker is stuck all the time after the warranty ran out. Searched internet and found that it is common in this model. Don't buy. It is a big headache!

If your ice bucket is stuck and won't come out, don't try to force it too hard. A little gentle wiggle should be all you need to shake it loose. Please see this link for details.

Very bad design

Can't believe they are still selling this. The back of the evaporator cover freezes which stops the fan.

Don’t buy this model!

This fridge came with the house which we bought. Overall, we liked the fridge, however the ice maker was frequently fouling up with ice. I eventually learned Samsung was repairing the ice maker for free and I arranged for someone to come out and replace it at no charge. Everything worked fine for about a year and then not only did the ice maker start freezing up and jamming again, the lower pull-out tray started forming ice beneath it making the tray very difficult to pull out. We now routinely pull out the tray and use a metal spatula to pop out the frozen lake of ice on the bottom. Presently the ice maker is not in use because we can’t even pull the tray out due to ice blockage. My wife is back to using individual ice trays in the lower freezer. I’ll try calling Samsung again…but I wonder if they will send someone out again for free since it was already “fixed” once before…

Ice maker is a nightmare. Bought the part that was supposed to alleviate the freezing problem but it made no difference. It takes forever to make a few cubes.

The ice maker will never stop breaking

Ever since we purchased this fridge it has need repairs. We have had the ice maker fixed ten times, and they usually had to replace it. There is a class action lawsuit due to this defect, and even with a new ice maker it still breaks. It has been one of the worst purchases we have ever made, and I would not recommend it at all.

Poor icemaker

This is my second refrigerator, same model in the last 12 years. The first one started collecting ice at thff ed bottom and the new one the icemaker has stopped working after 3-4 years
