Great use of space

We previously owned a side by side refrigerator. Wife always complained about the lack of space especially in the freezer portion. The Samsung is an absolute joy. No more complaining. The French door style with freezer on the bottom is a very efficient use of space. Because of the layout of our kitchen we had to go for the "counter depth" unit. I was concerned that the space would be too small but that concern turned out to be a non-issue. Wife's only concern now is that she can not plaster the front of the refrigerator with magnets. Manual specifically warns that magnets will scratch the black finish. Small price to pay for this efficient unit.
Pros: Bright display, use of space, quiet
Cons: magnets scratch the finish

Great for 2 years

After two years, we got constant ice build up in upper compartment and in ice maker. Build up was so much that it blocked the fan and made noise, eventually preventing the cold air from circulating. Ice would not dispense because it was blocked.
After 3 service calls, 2 thermostat replacements, and dozens of manual defrosts, I give up. Never again will I buy a Samsung frig. Thanx for 2 great year and one horrible one.

Piece of garbage

Don't waste your money on this garbage. The icemaker will give you nothing but grief, once that starts to go then the fridge will start freezing your food. It looks pretty, good features, TERRIBLE design and TERRIBLE quality.
Cons: Did not meet expectations, Poor quality

Repairman's best friend

Have had this refrigerator for 2 years and have had the repairman out twice. Once after a power outage...the refrigerator display would not reset. Unable to reset after trying to follow online directions I called repairman who did it for $55. Today I had the repairman out because the refrigerator temp did not match the temp set. Apparently I have a fan and sensor out so I am out $430 if I decide to repair. I can't decide whether to keep throwing money into this hole. Wow, $3000 for an appliance that lasts 2 years? This is a first....in my appliance experience.....I'm so disappointed.

Major design issues! Buyer Beware!

this refrigerator started having issues around the third year we had it. there was ice build up in the back panel of the refrigerator, which leads to malfunction of the fan and eventually the refrigerator becomes too warm and humid. our food started growing mold on it. we had the entire back panel replaced, and the ice build up issue returned in a year. now we find ourselves defrosting the refrigerator every 2-3 weeks.
we have other friends that own this refrigerator as well. if it's not ice build up in the back panel, it is a malfunction of the ice maker (ice maker is frozen solid and cannot dispense ice). with all the time, effort and money spent on repairing this refrigerator, it is easier to buy a new one.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

We have had out Frige for six months now. It is great in all ways except one..........
The Ice Maker does not supply a timely need for ice when entertaining or an unexpected need for more then four to six glasses of ice at any given time; so there is a need to keep on hand bagged ice for these circumstances; other then this problem, we are satisfied with this product and would recommend it with the above proviso.
Pros: Bright display
Cons: Did not meet expectations, icemaker undersized
