Most Underrated Smartphone

I have had my Ace for over a year and love it. I almost bought the Moto Q 9c but glad I picked this one since it has a faster processor. The size and feel are great for your pocket. Since the update to WM 6.1, a whole host of new features were added. It now has a fully working Office Mobile, not just the viewer. It also added GPS, Live Search, Messenger, Sprint Software Store, Sprint TV, Windows Live among others. I use it to watch movies that I compress and load on the memory card, as well as listen to music on the built in speaker. I bought a Samsung headset adapter to use regular headphones and it works great. What works even better are my stereo Bluetooth headphones. Gets great signal from across the room. Samsung also added Picture Mail as a separate install. The only thing that this smartphone doesn't have is a touch screen (doesn't need it) and Wi-fi (would be nice). Even the 'Today' screen was updated to give a Vista look. By today's standards, this phone is a little dated in some areas (1.3MP camera) but what phone wouldn't be after two or three years on the market. Actually, it still takes a decent photo. Overall, this phone still outshines many on the market today.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Great Phone

The Samsung Ace is great, it can do just about anything, I love how easy it is to sync with my computer, and the fact that I can use it worldwide. The only thing I have been disapointed with is it won't send picture text, I found an application to do it but it is a hassle. Overall though great phone.

Samsung Ace great once you download Win Mobile 6.1

I also own a Blackberry 8830 wolrd phone provided by my employer which is a superior device. But expensive.. I got this from Sprint for less that 1/2 th price it does everyting the BB does and then some and has a camera. Once you download Win 6.1 mobile free took 15 minutes. it will add Sprint navigation. It also synched up with my Exchange server at work. So now I don't have to carry two devices all the time.
I love Win Mobile 6.1 over the BB OS.

Since WM 6.1 upgrade, this is a GREAT phone!

I love this phone since the Windows Mobile 6.1 update. It has GPS working, handles a 16gb MicroSDHC card [ignore samsung specs that say 2, I HAVE 15.6 gigs showing on mine since the update], is international compatible if needed, and handles all of my data/phone needs. Before the WM6.1 Update I wasn't as impressed, but am VERY happy now. Heck, even the IE mobile browser has improved!
Now, the problem is that it is a Windows Mobile Smartphone/standard device. What this means is that there isn't as much software as touch screens, but I don't like touchscreens. The buttons aren't as widely spaced as my wife's phone, but I can use them with no significant problem, as long as I'm not drunk. In which case I probably shouldn't be talking to anyone but a taxi, my wife, or my lawyer.
GPS could be faster, but I'm happy to have it now.
Some WM issues in general are: no Java program, no Flash program and thus websites that use both aren't functional. Furthermore, some of the music/videos I like required a different media player, as Windows Mobile Media Player didn't quite cut it.
I wish it could be recharged while using headphones, or the line-out function for my car stereo. I instead use the bluetooth stereo broadcast through my car stereo while recharging: works great!
Having a seperate 3.5 headphone jack would be perfect though. So would using a mini-usb connection instead of the proprietary one for recharge/sync functions.
I've never used it overseas, so that isn't an issue, but have loved it domestically so far.
I love being able to call anyone, check movies, watch some limited tv, surf the web, watch videos, listen to music, and play games all on this one device, which I happen to like the looks of. I would definitely recommend it to someone who wants a smartphone and had Sprint.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Very slow device. Impossible to get any support for it. I would not recommend this phone at all. Can't wait to get rid of it.
