This product really cleans the clothes.

I am very pleased with this washer. The whites have never been whiter and the clothes come out almost dry after the spin cycle. The added quality of it being so quiet is very nice.
Pros: Performance, Quality, quiet

Cycle-end signal TOO SOFT!
on May 17, 2013

I was hesitant about a front-loader. Reviews indicated problems with odor but that was temporary. The end-of-cycle signals need to be MUCH LOUDER on the highest setting. The little tune is cute but not loud enough if you are not in the next room.
The default settings are great for 90% of the loads I do, making it quick and easy to set and start the washer or to show someone else (like teens) how to do it. The many alternate choices for special loads give a lot of choices and work well for those loads.
However, I found that liquid bleach DOES NOT WORK IN THIS machine. It spotted my towels. Glad I didn't use it on clothes. I guess it just can't get diluted enough with the small amount of water a front-loader uses?
The default cycle is short enough to be convenient and long enough to do the job on most loads. The capacity is fine for large loads.
I bought the matching dryer and am equally pleased with it.
Pros: Performance, easy to use, Features/Settings

Exceeds all my expectations

I had an LG full size combo washer/dryer in my condo. It was awesome. The new home I purchased came with a different major brand front load washer and dryer. I thought, OK, I'll give it a chance. From the start the competitor model gave me headaches from horrible vibrations and "walking" during the spin cyclle. The electronic control panel became erratic, thereby making overrides to the preset programs impossible. Having reached my patience level I researched all the models made by competitors. Very high user reviews of the LG washers in major appliance store websites. Very high reliability, and high ratings in a major consumer magazine. My previous washer could never get my white bath towel set as brilliantly white as I would have liked, even with chlorine bleaches. With the LG, they came out perfectly. The LG also is more gentle on the clothes. Several times I've cleaned queen size comforters using the “bulky” option. This washer does not go out of balance like so many other front loaders do. The hand wash cycle is awesome. Flip the clothes, soak, flip them again, soak, etc. No damaging agitator actions. I love the "allergiene" option. No more dust or other irritants left in the clothing. The steam heps this out. Especially useful for bedding. I now actually look forward to laundry day. It’s become fun using this gem.

Just as with our dryer purchase, we did a lot of research prior to purchasing the WM3470 washer. While we've only had the unit a couple of months, it has met our every need. Everything about the unit says quality, and we couldn't be happier. We strongly recommend this unit to anyone looking for a great front loading washer.

I love the steam features and the separate towel cycle. It really does cut drying time. We have a pool and go through our share of towels, so this feature has come in handy. The washer can fit our comforters too. Love it.

Amazing

After some research my wife and I purchased this washer and dryer set. It truly amazed us on how much more clean it was able to get our laundry. My 3 year old son has a special pillow he uses, and for some reason he will not use a pillow case with it. I regularly wash It because it gets messy. the fist time we washed it in this washer, we used the sanitize mode. The change as amazing, we didn't use any other product other than tide detergent, but te pillow came out the whites we have ever seen it.
Others have said the cycles are too long. I disagree, wen you do a standard tubowash, (which is what we use 90% of the time# it is about the same amount o time as any other washer, o modes and sanitize do take a bit longer, but when we use those we aren't really worried about the time it takes over the job done.
Capacity says good enough for a king size comforter... this is true depending on how much fill the comforter has. We have 2, one very thick for winter, which we put inside just to test the volume. It filled the tank completely up. Which means it really doesn't fit by LGs guidelines, they say in the manual to leave a hands width gap between your clothes and the top of the tub when filling it.
The high pressure spurts of water it uses is a little loud, but it doesn't cause a water hammer like I saw in some other reviews.
Only gripe I have is it automatically reses back to warm water settings to the standard wash. We wash mostly in cold, and I have to manually change it to cold before every wash. There should be away to change the default to the temperature you want to use as your main wash.
We purchases the pedestals as well, imo they are a bit overpriced, though the added height is what we were going for, and it is much easier loading and unloading with them.
All in all I would say it cleans laundry better than we thought possible, looks great, has great features, easy to use, little bit pricey #especially if you get the pedestals)
