This washing machine is all you could ever want!

Previously, I owned a Bosch, which I bought because of the German reputation for engineering excellence. What a disappointment! When the machine could not be repaired, I bought my current LG machine, which is everything the Bosch is not. It's reliable, cleans well, and is easy to use. I wouldn't trade it for a dozen German machines---of any kind.

A perfect match to the new dryer

The washer is the perfect match for the new dryer and allows me to wash my large items like comforters which I had to take to the laundry mat for years. Being a nurse, I especially like the sanitation cycle which gives me an added security knowing that my clothes are sanitized. I would recommend this product without reservation.

Awesome Washer Love the big drum

I am in love with my LG washing machine!!! Lets face it most people hate doing the laundry, although that part hasn't changed by my purchase it certainly has made it considerately much more pleasant. This washer is a dream! I have three boys so laundry for me is a never ending job. The large drum allows for a big load and performs beyond all my expectations. My clothes spin out like they are supposed to which helps cut the drying time down. I know this will sound crazy, but I even get a smile on my face when the cute, pleasant chimes signal that my load is complete. I am extremely pleased with my purchase and I am looking forward to adding additional LG appliances to my home in the very near future. Thank You for a wonderful machine.

I could not be any happier with the purchase of my washer! Truly amazing and I can fit so much in it as well! The variety of cycles is stupendous and the quick wash is faster and more efficient than ever! As for the steam wash, I resort to this for all the things that are germ infested/soiled! As for the dryer that goes with the set,, my husband is a Marine and I can seriously DRY-CLEAN his Dress Blues! A-MAZZZZ-ING

Does a great job of washing many types of clothing with small amounts of detergent/water. Spins more water out than I expected. Will make my old dryer useful for a couple more years. I recommended this to my son and he is very happy. It works much better than a 3 yr old competitor's machine did.

We are a "LG Family"

After 12 years, we have upgraded to the WM3470HVA being there seems to be only two switches in our house that go on, first the basement light and then the LG Washing machine!!! It's always another load, Mom's & Dad's laundry being they need nursing care. We also do Lake home linens for private "Lake Home Clients". And I get dirty too, every day!
We bought an LG Washer for our Son's Wedding present being they have 6 teenagers and they have just upgraded this week to a new LG front load, washing machine. I haven't seen which model yet?
And our Daughter liked ours, so she bought an LG for her new home.
All the way around they are a very good heavy duty, quiet, efficient, economical, front load, washing machine. Your next machine should be an LG, check them out!
Pros: Performance, Style/Design, easy to use, Features/Settings, Quality, quiet!!, economical

Good unit overall
on December 31, 2014

I purchased this unit several months ago and am mostly pleased with the way it's performed. To begin with, it's a very good looking piece of equipment that boasts many features. Overall the unit cleans well and is quiet when operating.
There are a few reasons I have downgraded the rating from excellent to average. First, the washer is kind of "high maintenance". I say this because there's a water collection tank in the bottom of the unit that the owner must periodically drain manually (via a tiny drain tube). If you don't drain this every few weeks the unit will overflow and water will leak onto the floor. As long as you can remember to drain the unit every few weeks it's fine. I've owned several washers in my life and this is the only unit I've seen with a manual drain design on the bottom (awkward). The second reason is, you can only use HE detergent in this unit. We started off using regular because we had half a bottle leftover from the previous unit. Initially the unit would overflow suds out of the rear-top overflow relief tube. We thought the unit was faulty, but after an LG warranty repair tech showed up, he explained that this machine can only use HE detergent. After switching over to HE detergent the unit has been working perfectly. Lastly, the unit has some occasional balancing issues. We don't think we're overloading it, but we still sometimes have problems with balance. These problems manifest in the form of a loud "thumping sound". All that need to be done to correct it is stop the unit and re-distribute the cloths. This issue is addressed in the owners manual and is considered normal.
Overall it's been a good purchase despite a few growing pains along the way. I'd recommend this unit, but would be advised about the few issues that we've experienced.
