easy to use, clothes very clean & large capacity

I've had this washer for a little over a month. I am able to get so much more done with fewer loads and the clothes come out much cleaner than my 19 year old top load. Great features - I use the extra rinse on almost every load - like to make sure there is no leftover residue. I am able to get my husbands very dirty work clothes so much cleaner even when I do no pretreating on the stains. I am very happy with my purchase.

I bought this washer after much research, was originally looking for a dryer and found that the model mates were both top-rated. The washer gets clothes clean, runs quietly, and has a variety of settings. I've only had it a month so haven't tried all the settings yet, but love it so far. Some people have complained about a musty smell, but I leave the door open right after a wash to let it air dry and haven't noticed any smell at all. I was pleased to read Nov 2012 issue of Consumer Reports and find that this model is rated number 1 for the top washer products for the year. It's coordinating dryer was also number 1 for dryers this year. No complaints at all so far.

Love my washer

I am very happy with the washer and dryer we bought. It gets our clothes and towels very clean. The variety of cycles takes care of our different cleaning needs.
The spin cycle typically gets the clothes to a point that the time required in the dryer is greatly diminished.
The little chime that alerts the end of the cycles still makes me smile.
I have only one complaint - it cannot handle the weight of a queen down alternative comforter. I was told that I would be able to wash large comforters and blankets when I purchased it. That was the final selling point that led us to make the purchase. When I attempted to wash the comforter, it was too heavy for the final spin cycle. When I finally realized that was what was going on, I removed a very wet comforter from the machine and took a long time to get it dry. This is not enough to dissuade me from the washer, it's just a disappointment.
I would still highly recommend this washer.

If I may, I would refer all those in the market for a new washer to read the " recommended" rating of the LGWM3470 top loader in the February 2013 issue of
"Consumer Reports". This machine excels in washing,
energy efficiency, water efficiency, capacity, gentleness,
and quietness. We're very happy and decided to buy the matching dryer.

Over suddsing

I needed a dryer but we decided to get the matching washer at the same time. I was so excited by all of the bells and whistles the washer has. I went out and bought the he detergent and washed my first load. When I went downstairs to get the laundry out, there was water all over the floor. I called lg right away and they set up a service call for a week later. In the meantime, I would sit and watch the machine to see where the water was coming from. Over course it never leaked when I was there! The service guy informed me that I was using too much soap. Though I had bought the he, and was only filling to the lines recommended by both Tide and Lg, it was still too much soap. I decided to by the Pods, the over suddsing happened again. Lg was little to no help on the phone. I am now using only 2 tbs of soap. I haven't had any more over suddsing, but I wonder how clean my laundry is!
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Makes the 5 loads a day EASY!

This is the best washer I have ever owned! It makes keeping up with all the laundry -- sports, delicates, etc, -- EASY. The settings are so easy to select and the clothes are so clean and dry when they are done! It is worth the money - the value is 200% there!.

No steam fresh

This is my second LG washer with the first one being tromm which I loved. After 7 year it had issues with the tub and was not repairable. So I was happy when bought this machine which claims to have steam fresh. This washer is good but does not have my numer one reason for buying this machine. Sadly there is no steam fresh like my old machine. Very disappointed!

This product is wonderful. Runs quiet & smooth. I enjoy all the different settings for the different wash loads. Laundry comes out beautifully clean. Is everything & more than I was told it was. Have no regrets. Would buy it again.
