Epson WP-4530 setuup

Epson setup disk work well with my Mac and is printing now as advertised. The only problem is with the Fax. The wireless functionality was important to me, as well as using the home network settings. That part of installation has always been a problem, but not this time. My computer experence level is low, but all instruction for unpacking and prep were clear. ink install was much easier than the previous printer had before.
I would recommend this to a friend!

EPSON WP-4530

Although I've not owned the printer long enough to comment on the duration of the ink cartridges, I've been very impressed with the printer so far. The back-feed allows me to print on thick card stock, a necessity for me. The prints come out clear and colorful, with little to no streaking.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Scanner stops in mid-scan forcing constant restart

The printer seems to work okay. However, the scanner will stop scanning in mid-scan and stop responding on average every 3rd scan. Scans over 10 pages generally have to be split into multiple scans and then merged together through a pdf merger. This gets time consuming and very large documents can become quite confusing.
I am having to constantly restart the printer, unplug it, and reset it every 3rd or 4th scan because it is no longer responding. I am now in the process of uninstalling and trying to reinstall to see if this helps. I've only had this printer/scanner for 7 months and it's been an on-going problem for the last 4 months.
Not sure I'll ever buy another Epson scanner/printer again.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

incompatibilty

Once configured correctly it is a very good product. However on initial setup and installation of software I encountered incompatibility issues and even corruption of some of my programs including Office. Geek Squad intervened and eventually worked thru it with their expertise. Whole process took about 3 hours. By the way I say incompatibility because as soon as software was completing installation, brief windows would open and caution about such issues.

Best Printers — Best Customer Service

I only purchase Epson printers! They're reliable, cost effective, and dependable. But most of all, I only purchase Epson printers because of Epson's outrageously fantastic customer service and support. I purchased my WP-4530 two years ago; then, recently, the yellow ink port malfunctioned. Yellow ink dripped into the printer cabinet. I cleaned it up as best I could, installed another yellow ink cartridge, and the same thing happened. I contacted Epson. My two-year warranty expired, but Epson said the ink port malfunction should not have happened. Therefore, I was told that Epson would make good on its product. They shipped me a new WP-4530 at no cost (free shipping, too!) and requested that I use the shipping box to return the defective printer. A prepaid shipping label was included (free shipping back to Epson). I set up the new printer, everything functioned beautifully, and I was back in business within two days. Epson apologized for my inconvenience, and even provided new ink cartridges. Simply stated — LISTEN UP FOLKS! — with customer service and support like this, why would anyone not want to be an Epson customer? I am a lifetime patron of Epson products!

Don't Buy One

I have never written such a poor review on a product but don't buy this machine. I've had this machine for a little over a year and am already replacing it. The machine jams and I can't get it unjammed. I've already had one printer replaced, under warranty, and the new printer does the exact same thing; jams and I waste so much paper. So, unless you want to replace your printer yearly, don't buy this one.

Easy to Set Up and Use

This is probably the 5th or 6th printer I've had over the years. Some in the past were very disappointing. I decided to try Epson again because an Epson I had back about 15 years ago worked great. This one works great too! Easy set up. Clear instructions. Rock solid performance. Intuitive display and buttons. I especially love how easily it scans documents to PDF and old photos to JPG. Hats off to the Epson engineers who designed this one!

Problem with the unit communicating on Windows 8.1 getting past the fire wall. I could operate with no problem from PC, but not from the control panel of the printer. Solving the issue took hours of calls to Linksys, Epson, and Microsoft to figure out what the problem was. Even applying the settings to allow Epson through the firewall didn't work, Microsoft had to remotely access my computer to set it up correctly. Not something I could do myself.
I would recommend this to a friend!
