Epson Printer Issues

On my 3rd Epson Workforce 4530 refurbished printer, and still the printer installation and calibration actually takes all of the ink in the cartridges to 'charge' the printer for use. BOGUS and not user friendly.
Not at all happy....

Best All-In-One Printer I have owned
on May 17, 2015

I have owned a number of printers/multifunction printers over the years and by far this has been the best functioning and most reliable.
Consistent quality and being able to print/copy/scan and also print pictures has been a big help in our day to day and special occasion printing needs (we took a group picture at a birthday party and we were able to hand a glossy picture print to everyone before the end of the party).
In addition with wireless connectivity, we have used it to print from nearly every device in the house.
I have found that picture printing works best with the Epson utility (PC) and the Epson app for tablet and smartphone devices.
As with any printer today, the cost of ink can be a pain point, however I have found with the "XL" size print cartridges for this printer I have only found myself replacing the full set about twice a year.
Pros:
Multifunction: Print/Copy/Scan, Picture Print
Wireless Connection and Wireless Print
Consistent Quality for Paper and Picture Print
Cons/Neutral:
It takes a little extra time to figure out the right approach to picture printing, etc.
Cost of ink if not planned for

unboxing my wp-4530

Received printer and damaged plus 3 ink cartridges needed replacement. , Epson sent a replacement printer. while setting up 2nd printer read warning to replace 2 more cartridges and waited while shipped. Replaced 2 cartridges and then printer read that 1 other cartridge needed replacement...replaced and finally got it to work. Its a good printer but the initial set up was horrible. I had to buy a cheep printer to get some jobs completed. Epson did sent a set of Cartridges at my request for the inconvenience. Hope there are no more issues.

WorkForce Pro WP-4530 All in one printer

Just bought this printer and haven't used it much yet. But it works flawlessly and set up was a snap, even the wireless (if you can read). Just read the instructions first, follow them and you should not have any trouble.

Epson WP-4530

I have had this printer only two weeks, but it has been fine so far. I was leery about buying another inkjet after having used a laser for the past couple of years. This has been an eyeopener as far as that is concerned. Still have to see how long the ink lasts, but I am well satisfied at this point.

The Epson 4530

I just received my printer and set it up to be a wireless one. It was really easy to do - I'm pretty computer savvy so if your not I would recommend someone who is if you are going the wireless route. So far I have printed a picture by sending it to the Epson email address (this is really amazing) and the quality was excellent. You have to be patient as this process takes a few minutes. Scanning is easy too! I think this is going to be a great all in one for me and I'm just starting with it. I also installed this printer on my wireless laptop so now I can print from anywhere in the house! I love it so far and would recommend this printer.

Great Printer

I am very impressed with the output quality in standard mode. I haven't found another that compares.
It prints well and it prints quickly even over my wireless network.
Unpacking took a while - there is a lot of tape to remove - the little "L" shaped foam brace inside takes some effort to remove.
I set up the wireless directly without the use of a USB cable - it was easy and worked the first time.
Set up takes a little more time than some other printers- mostly due to the time it takes to initialize the ink cartridges.
Registering with Epson Connect for email printing is not simple and obvious. It took me a quite awhile to figure it out. Once setup, it worked great.
It doesn't matter who makes the printer, all of them seem to have paper handling trays and guides that seem cheap and flimsy. I worry that they will not hold up over time. All $200 + printers should have paper handling trays that instills more confidence in the quality of the printer but none of them do.
We will have to wait and see how it does on ink consumption. So far the speed and print quality have performed as advertised - hopefully the ink consumption will to.
The scanning and copy features worked well.
I did not hook up the fax at this time (no land line) so I can't comment on it.
I have gone through several printers trying to find one I can be happy with and actually afford to print with - I believe I finally found it.

So Pleased

I know it doesn't take a genius to install a new printer, but this is the first time we have actually been able to do that unassisted! The only problem was the in-hand instructions did not mention the paper feed in back, only the drawer feed in front. Thus, it was confusing until we were able to see the disc info. The Epson rebate, coupled with other store incentives, led us to purchase this upgrade in our home office printer. Because the cartridges are larger, I look forward to not running out of color ink at inopportune times.
