Quality Control Slipping

First printer was DOA and would not initialize. Cryptic error message said see directions. Second printer had same problem plus two cyan and no black ink cartridges were included. Third printer did initalize. This third unit appears to be working well. I persisted through the inconvenience of returning defective printers only because of the excellent results I have had with Epson in the past.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Awesome results

This is probably the best printer I have used in years. The printer is fast, and everything I have tried works exactly as stated. Printing from google docs, my iPad and also from my android tablet and phone are perfect.
If you need an outstanding printer you will not go wrong with this one.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Paper Feeder is NG

I really like the functionality and simplicity of this all-in-one with the MAJOR exception of a paper feeder inconsistency that at times fires all the paper in the machine out in chunks of 10 or 12 pages at a time. The frustrating thing is it only happens when I really need it to print!
Still under warranty...hope Epson does the right thing.

Total disaster

This printer was a huge disappointment. As a small business owner who depends on the printer every day of the year, I was willing to pay top dollar for a thoroughly reliable all-in-one printer. This one is anything but reliable. In the three months we've owned it, we've had four major time-consuming issues that required reinstallation and/or an exchange. Today I'm returning it for the last time and buying a different printer. Save yourself a lot of hours and frustration and cross this one off your list.

Setup so easy for such a feature filled machine

I began with the Start Here short folder and followed the steps exactly as stated.
When I got to step seven I had to choose to continue setup for a Mac OS-X machine. I continued through seven and eight as directed for a Mac and set it up to use my Wi-Fi at home and was ready to go.
Fax set up was same easy procedure. The scanner works great right off the console buttons, but I did have to go to the manual in order to scan a document by giving instructions from my Mac. Following the insrtuctions on p17, I opened Preview and went to File>Import from Scanner>Include Networked Devices and scanned wirelessly--no problems.
I really can't remember when I have had such a frustration free experience in setting up and using a new hardware device with so many features. Thanks Epson.
Some of the easy Setup might have possibly been due to the Mac. I will know when I add my Windows PC to my network later.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Disappointment

Paper jams all the time, won't print business card stock, photo paper, etc. Now the print gear fell off and have to order a new one. I would never order this printer again. Printer cartridges do last a long time but this is the worse printer I have ever had!

Printing results are great. Trying to install the scanner proved more difficult than I originally thought. I had to uninstall the program twice, figure out the firewall, etc. I wish the computer gurus could step back and have someone else write the directions.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Yellow ink splotches after 15 months - now unusabl

This printer was great for a year. Then the fax died. Now every page has a large splotch of yellow ink. Unusable for anything except drafts, plus replacing the ink would get expensive!
I bought a new genuine Epson cartridge, but that was not the problem. The splotches continued, and looking it up I see dozens of identical complaints.
Epson tells me it is "out of warranty" and they won't do a warranty extension "because it is not a common problem." I complained that it is clearly a design error, and they responded that is not possible because a design flaw would have been fixed soon after the printer launched!
So, ignore all the reviews from people who only had this product a week. Think of it as a "disposable printer." You will enjoy it for 6 months or more, but before 2 years are up it will die. (Assuming you print a lot, of course.)
