WP 4540 leaks yellow after maybe 200 prints

Seriously, this printer is just over a year old and has been used so little it's amazing that this yellow leak issue is not covered under warranty. I will never buy an Epson again

Greate printer, only for a few months!

This line of Epson printers is fundamentally flawed. Just google "Epson Workforce Leak" and see how many people have experienced the issue of their printers leaking yellow ink.
I bought mine in 2011 and just a little after one year (with very light use) it started leaking yellow ink. As the result, it is not useable for anything I would like to give to my clients, it just doesn't look professional with yellow ink sprayed all over the page.
The print quality and speed of this machine is great, but the problem of leaking ink is a big draw back.
If you decide to buy it, get at least three years of extended waranty from the store and be prepared to take it back and get a new one every few months because this WILL happen to you too.

After having this printer for 2 years with no problems, thinking that it was one of the best printers that I have had, it started spilling yellow ink. I changed the yellow cartridge twice with the same problem. I went online and found that I am not alone with this problem. The SAME problem has occurred with many Epson users.
This is a manufacturer defect and everyone who has bought one should be reimbursed.

Yellow Ink Problem - Second Unit

After having two of these printers have the same yellow ink leaking problem, I have to say avoid this printer. While it works it is fast and has nice print quality, but with two printers having the same issue, it must only be a matter of time before your printer will too have the issue. It's been known for 2 years nearly and still no fix as far as I can tell - its a major issue with the design of the delivery system to the print head and once it starts, you are doomed.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Yellow ink leak

Within a little over a year of having this printer at work we started to notice yellow ink leaking all inside of the printer and onto the pages it was printing.
After having a professional come out to service the machine, we were informed that it would cost more to purchase and replace the part needed. We were also told that cleaning up the ink spill would be another hefty charge if they could even clean it all.
With all of the continued negative reviews with the same yellow ink leaking problem, I am surprised that Epson has not made an attempt to recall the piece of this machine that is obviously breaking for a lot of purchasers. Other than this particular issue the printer has be "ok".
I would not recommend this printer, as you will most likely be purchasing a new one within a years time once yours is covered in yellow ink.

Solid printer with a leaky yellow ink cartridge

I have been using the printer over two years without a problem. And I have been recommending the people I know how good the printer is. I still think it is a good product, but there is a faulty part on one of ink delivery system. It is just leaking all over the inside the printer. It is the yellow ink cartridge. I searched the web and found out that there are more people having the same issue with the yellow ink. I have no idea why it is only yellow ink, but it tells me that obviously it has some faulty mechanical issue should be addressed to the owners of the product. I would give another chance to Epson. Hopefully, they are aware the faulty part and fixed on the other newer models; wp-4630 or wp-4640.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Leaking yellow ink

I have used the Epson WP-4540 without incident for 10 months. Very pleased with it when it suddenly started to leak yellow ink on the print paper.
Searching on the internet reveals this is a known problem with this model.
Having purchased an Epson specifically because I thought they had a good reputation this is very disappointing.

Like so many others on the web (Google Epson 4540 yellow ink problem). This printer worked great for me for one year and then yellow inked leaked all throughout the machine....now it is useless.
