Love this printer, BUT...

This has been a wonderful color printer for our office, offering great color and good speed. However, it has recently developed the same Yellow ink leak that others are mentioning and the printer is currently unusable. We've changed cartridges and cleaned the heads, but nothing works. The color balance doesn't have enough yellow at the same time there is a streak of yellow ink down the middle of the print job. I have started the tech support process and will update this review as I see whether Epson treats this as a design flaw. For now I would encourage you to be very careful on choosing this model of printers.

Yellow issue

We've had this printer a little over one year. Worked great until recently... yellow won't print. Changed cartridge, cleaned heads, etc. still no yellow prints. Judging from the other reviews, it should start to spew yellow any day now. Ugh! Epson should be better than that.

Yellow ink problem

Same as other reviews. Printer worked great for 14 months then yellow ink ruptures inside printer and onto every printout. Buying new cartridge does not help. This is a known issue, Google it and watch Youtube video. Part is not replaceable. Very disappointed

They just don't last

I've owned two of this model, both in my business and at home. When my printers worked, they worked great. It is a very fast printer and the ink lasts a very long time. The problem is that it has a VERY short lifespan.
I've had two of these develop issues of leaking huge quantities of ink.
One WP-4540 started leaking yellow ink at less than 5000 pages, and the other leaks black ink and only has 7000 pages. The one that leaked yellow literally sprayed ink all over the inside of the chassis, but the one that leaks black leaks mostly on the pages that I print which leaves huge, dripping smears all over them.
I wrote the first broken printer off as a fluke, but after reading numerous complaints about this model doing the same thing and having another one break, I've decided to no longer make Epson my first choice of printer.

printer runs good up until the yellow ink starts to drip or wont print. Do your research... I was the first one to purchase this printer thats why i was not able to find out more about this problem other than now..

It would be a great printer, except it has a flaw of spewing yellow ink on everything. After researching on the internet, I found that this is a common problem with this model. Steer clear.

Another yellow ink issue

Very promising initially, but ultimately very disappointing.
Just leaving another review to document the same problem that many on the web have already noted. After the first cartridge change my unit also drips/sprays yellow ink everywhere which soaks the paper that is coming through the feed. The printer simply cannot be used for printing any longer.
