I loved these headphones, I listened to them everyday ALL DAY. I listed to more music in a week than most people do in months and I appreciate quality headphones, I HATE bad headphones such as the Beats, and the low end skullcandy headphones, I like to say these have very good highs, lows, and mids, although they could be a tad more punchy. Regardless there great. Very durable, very comfortable, and very loud, they have controller which is great and very convenient. Sony did a great job. The one problem I had was after completely, abusing these through the process of over using them, the sound slowly deteriorated when turned up at very high volumes, that is my only concern.

What's great about it: Wonderful sound; comfortable to wear
What's not so great: Bulky; not travel friendly
I needed a good quality set of headphones that would work well both for a work application, and also personal listening. I tried all of the higher end over-the-ear headphones in our local electronics stores, including Beats, Soul by Ludacris, Bose, Sennheiser, and Klipsch. I was replacing a set of Bose AE2 headphones, which have a good quality sound for a somewhat reasonable price. I do believe that headphones are a bit difficult to review, since each individual prefers sound differently, but I have to say that these Sony DRZX701IPs have a very rich, balanced sound. They are not bass-heavy like the Beats, but they reproduce the low bass frequencies very well. Mids and highs are well-balanced also. These are also very comfortable, unlike the Beats or some of the other brands. My final decision came between these and the Beats MIXR headphones, and I am very happy I chose the Sony DRZX701IP. The inline volume and mic controls are well designed and conveniently placed. My only negative about these headphones is they are quite bulky, and they do not come with any kind of travel case, so if you are a frequent traveler, you may want to look elsewhere.

What's great about it: Everything
What's not so great: Durability is that of a $15 dollar head phone.
I love these headphones. They feel like marshmallows on your ears and they sound great. Any type of music, from country to rock to metal to rap to dubstep, I listen to it all, and i just have to say, OMG. It sounds good. On max volume dubstep just blows you away with their wubs, vibrating your head the whole time. The only reason I put down the disability is that i took care of these head phones incredibly, always putting them in a padded case and never jerking them, and after 2 months of having them, the right side is starting to fault because of the cord, which appears to be thick but is just as faulty as any $15 head phones. For such expensive head phones, I was expecting far better durability and at least a year of working. I was very disappointed when i started hearing this.

What's great about it: A fine pair for the price, simple, comfortable design
What's not so great: no case
I spent a good 30 minutes in the store, trying headphones in the same price range with my music player. I made sure to listen to my most familiar music with my eyes closed (it does help) in the different models. Then I went home since there were none of these in the store until the next delivery truck came. In the end I picked these as the best balance for my tastes. I'm glad I waited.
The headphones are a simple durable design. Not much fanciness on the outside. They don't fold up, and the cord doesn't disconnect. They don't draw much attention, which is a plus, and have good isolation. There was a little break-in time, but not too long. The sound is balanced, the bass is there but not over emphasized. The highs are bright but not harsh, and everything in the middle is nice. The soundstage is good for a closed design, too. They are easily driven by my portable music player, but really open up nice using the surround setting on my monitor/TV though the headphone jack. A headphone amp would make a nice compliment, too.
I wish they'd have come with a nice case, and a 1/4" adapter, but these are minor complaints.

What's great about it: Good sound, good outside noise reduction.
What's not so great: Warm around ears, keeps warmth in, ears sweat.
Sound quality is excellent, the noise reduction works well, very comfortable on the head and over the ears. My only problem with the unit is my ears get a little warm and tend to sweat. I have to take the headphones off from time to time to let my ears cool. They are padded very well and not only keep the noise out but keeps any air circulation out. Great buy, would recommend a set.

What's great about it: Good Price
What's not so great: The plug-in not compatible to Iphone cases
Since I was willing to buy a Bose headphone and spend 300 dollars, I found this one at the store and tried out. The sound quality is perfect, however it does have some contras. To use with the Iphone, whenever you have the protection on, the design of the plug-in avoid you to connect perfectly in the phone. Also, to lay down and travel with it, it may be a little uncomfortable, escpecially at airplanes.
I do recommend it because of its price. It may be a little pricey, but you still get the same quality as for the top headphones paying only one third of their prices.

What's great about it: Everything other than the one con
What's not so great: Would be nice to have an extension cord that came with it
I have been looking for quality headphones for awhile now for a good price and I found them here.
First the sound quality is amazing for their price point, they are not audiophile quality headphones but they are not geared towards that. However even against higher end headphones I tested, these headphones hold their own. The high and mid ranges are excellent, brings out some subtle sounds I have not heard before in songs. The bass is very tight however it is on the lighter side, so I you want heavier bass just use an EQ and these headphones will really shine. They also have a very good sound stage not the best I have heard but once again for their price point very hard to beat.
Second the comfort of these is awesome. I put them on and they conform very well to my head. They also fit very well around my ears, and they are fairly large. The urethane cushions are very soft and do an extremely excellent job at passively noise-cancelling outside noises. These are also very durable headphones, they have a very heavy plastic build with a nice brushed aluminum accent where the Sony symbol is.
Finally the microphone is very good for phone calls, VoIP applications such as Skype, also they work well for gaming, used them in Left 4 Dead 2. However for the ladder two you will need a VoIP splitter to use these on a laptop or PC to get both headphone and microphone functionality.
Overall I am extremely pleased with this purchase and definitely enjoy using this headset.
