FAMILY OF 6 LOVES THIS FRIDGE

We have a crazy house full of little kids. This fridge (we bought the stainless steel finish) is tough. I read some reviews that the fridge was "noisy" but ours is quiet. It only makes a noise when priming the water line or the when the ice maker drops a load of ice and honestly its not that loud. I love that I can get a glass of ice from the dispenser and ice does not go all over the floor. The water that the fridge filters tastes delicious. I can even fit a one gallon pitcher in the water dispenser space to make kool-aid. And there is plenty of room for all the food and drinks that our crazy household needs. This fridge has been an excellent fit for our large family. If you have a lot of kids, I recommend this fridge. Mostly made in America, that was a big plus for me. 'Merica!

Bought all new he appliances at once to match. First frig delivered had to be replaced as it didn't cool . Second one works great and looks really nice but the ice maker is really loud when it cycles to fill up with water. But so far it works great

Some wonderful, some not so wonderful features

We were very excited to get our new refrigerator, and for the most part have loved its features, like the way the shelves and lighting allow us to keep items visible and organized. The shelves and drawers are easily cleaned or reconfigured. Having the lower freezer section seems more convenient than side-by-side models. The slate finish goes so well with our newly upgraded kitchen and feels 'warmer' than standard stainless steel finishes. Our greatest disappointment is that the screen for selecting water/chipped ice/cubed ice is not readable in normal kitchen lighting. We know that if the horizontal lighted bar is to the left we will get water, if it's in the middle we will get chipped ice and to the right of the screen cubed ice, but any guests in our home will need a flash light to shine on the screen in order to know what they are selecting. We even had a repairman come out to make sure that there wasn't some light in the back that wasn't functioning and so we were quite disappointed to learn that this is how the selection screen functions.

I have been very pleased with this refrigerator. I have had no problems with it at all. It caught my eye because of the new slate gray color and I was ready for a change. I did a lot of shopping before deciding to buy this refrigerator and I have not been disappointed. The features are great--I especially like the temperature drawer for the meat, deli, and beverage. I have not had to throw away anything because of spoilage. The bottom freezer has been a plus for me because my refrigerator items are at eye level. The only complaint that I can have is the lighting of the water, ice, etc panel on the door. It would be nice to have the wording lit for night consumption-- with this added feature, I would have no complaints at all. I have had a lot of good compliments on this appliance.

Absolutely love the second ice maker in the freezer section. Over the years, we have had multiple refrigerators from a multiple manufactures. This one is my favorite. Plenty of space.

This fridge was part of a 4 piece GE kitchen suite I purchased a month ago. I spent a lot of time looking at refrigerators and investigating reliability. Reading professional and consumer reviews, GE was always in the top 3 for reliability, which is very important as this appliances is stuffed with electronics and not cheap to fix. Overall, I like the design and features of this fridge and yes, the slate looks great. The shelves are sturdy and can be configured to fit just about any product. The 2 smaller drawers are a good size but the right side drawer cannot be opened all the way when the left side door is closed. The single large drawer holds a lot and the red, green and white lights that come on depending on what temp the large drawer is set to is a nice touch. The door shelving is a bit limited in size on the left door due to the door ice-maker. The door ice-maker makes quick work of keeping the ice drawer full. However, the ice-maker shelf works like it was a complete after thought. The shelf will hold your glass but any ice or water that lands on the shelf bounces off and hits the floor. There is no raised lip on the shelf to catch ice or even a drop of water. The electronic controls above the ice-maker are dimly lit. Press and hold the freezer or fridge buttons for 3 seconds turns on a “Turbo Cool”. I guess it’s a nice features as I have no idea what temp I am going from and too, and there does not appear to be an automatic “Turbo Cool” timer or an auto off feature so if you turn it on don’t forget to turn it off. You do get a display that looks like an EC with the top part of the E removed, I have no idea how that correlates to “Turbo Cool”. The freezer holds a lot and the freezer ice maker works well. On some French door refrigerators when you pull open the bottom freezer door it also slides out the freezer drawer, this one does not. You can hear the door ice-maker dropping ice and filling up the water and aside from an occasional other noise, the fridge is quiet. Reliability is what is going to make or break this fridge. I believe I made a wise purchasing decision.
Thank you GE for manufacturing my kitchen suite here in the USA.
