I bought this to scan old family photos. It took forever to scan and would not load to computer. Took it back and got a Canon... works like a charm.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Amazing quality scanning pictures!

I bought this scanner to scan old photos of my parents and grandparents. Some are from as early as 1901!! The quality of the scan is amazing. Some pictures I can see features and people I could not see in the faded originals. The editing program clarifies even more. I always refer to myself as tech challenged but this scanner is so easy to set up and use. I have already recommended it to multiple friends.

The issue is likely caused by a Microsoft Windows power-saving feature that basically turns off USB ports when they aren’t active. make sure the scanner software is installed on your computer. Also, make sure to use the USB cable that is provided with your scanner. Please disable the USB selective suspend setting on your computer. Problems with MacOS

If the machine is idle for an extended period, the Mac cannot find it. Requires a complete uninstall and reinstall. Bad news. Have called support and this is the work around.
