Just a quick USB connection (no power cord) and it is ready to go. It scans fast. The software is also easy to understand to use. Great product.

Great Scanner

I was looking for an affordable scanner to replace an older one that my PC was no longer recognizing, so after reading reviews, I decided to purchase the Epson Perfection V39 model. It is compact, light weigh, captures at great resolutions and uses no external AC power. Only one cord, which provides the power and communications is used between the unit and the PC/laptop, etc. The interface software is easy to use. Great product overall.

Gets the job done. Software is bad/useless.

Gets the job done. Software is not good at all for what you would need a scanner to do. Outdated. Better off using PC or Mac software that comes with your computer. Scans sorta quick. Not as quick as expected. Great quality scans. Loud motors/gears.
It’s not the best but I would say it’s the best “flatbed” scanner you can find on the shelf.

I bought this scanner after my Canon failed. Hooked it up after loading software but nothing happened no power light no response. Tried another computer, same thing. Sent it back and bought another one from different vendor, same thing. I've been working with PC's for 25 years and this is the first time I've seen something like this.

Too.many options

Great product but I think there are too many options. I must wanted a scanner to scan my photos into my computer. There are 4 buttons on the front of the unit, of which I use none of.

Easy to set up, easy to use, great clarity

I purchased this V39 scanner to try and put my many photos and albums into digital format. So far I've only done a handful of photos, but loved the ease of setup, the small space the scanner takes up on my desk, and the clarity of the photos. I can see more after scanning them into my computer than I can in the originals! Only problem is that one scan does take some time, but this will be a process....

Simple and Reliable

It’s sleek and small and doesn’t take up much space. It’s reliable. The quality is good. It’s easy to use. I bought it to replace a previous Epson scanner I had from 2004-2018 so I expect the same longevity from this one.

Poor product

I bought this to scan in old family photos. The scan resolution is fine at 600dpi and takes about 20 seconds to complete, which isn’t bad. HOWEVER: First, the scan bar is not aligned with the sides/edges of the scan area. If you place a photo securely against the top scan edge, you would expect the edge of the photo to be scanned fairly close to horizontal and not need to fix the rotation in other software. Nope, it’s clearly noticeable and I do have to fix all my photos. Second, for some unknown reason to me, I will scan a photo and it will come out looking slightly like a bow tie (the miffed of the left & right sides of the photo are pulled in).
