Very nice scanner; I have had several brands over the years including commercial models and this V39 is very nice to use. It is plug and play if you install the software first as instructed. Set up requires following directions in proper order but is simple to do; most people don't read instructions now days so they get into trouble and complain about product.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Needs frequent reconnecting

When its communicating with my computer it's great. However, it randomly fails to communicate require disconnecting the scanner and rebooting the computer to communicate. I changed the USB cable which reduced the problem but did not eliminate it. The scanner doesn't seem to like "talking" all the time.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Take the V39 out of the box and in minutes you are productive. Clear, easy to use interface makes scanning seamless.

Almost perfect

My V39 scanner creates a high quality picture with ease. The only set back is, it will only do one a a time. The software must be restarted after each scan.
