I was unable to scan multiple photos into multiple files. If I scanned multiple photos, it just put them in one image. I am used to scanners that separate the different images. With this scanner, I have to slowly and painfully scan one photo at a time. The quality seems fine for someone who just need to scan a few photos, or only scan occasionally.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Chrome is not an option

ordered this Epson Perfection V39 Scanner, just received and learned it is not compatible with Chrome!

EASY PEASY

My scanner just arrived. The instructions were clear. Downloaded the software, hooked it up to my computer, placed a photo on the glass, and hit the scan button. It did a great job. Can't wait to try the scanner's ability to meld two large pics into one. So far, I'm happy.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Does make great scans of photos and the PDF option works great too. But I have to often unplug it and plug it back in order for the computer to "see" it.

We have hundreds of photographic prints, some nearly a century old. We use the V39 to make digital copies of many of these photos. It does the job very well.

Down loaded software plug USB in. No light comes on says you are not connect. Brand new figures.

Doesn't Work. Hmmm another bad decision. Loaded software with Scanner not plug in. On a brand new 1 day old Del computer. and nothing the the unit would not work the on off switch is defective. Now what. you guess it back to the the store to exchange. Guess what no exchange contact Epson. for a Return product Authorization. Around and Around we go.

my Epson Perfection V39 scanner is very reliable. It is perfect for home use. The only drawback is the speed.
