Great little scanner

I bought this for scanning old photos to add to a presentation at a memorial service. Have had no performance issues with it connected to a MacBook Pro.

Unexpected Features

I bought this simple scanner just to upload a lifetime of photos to my PC before they fade out sitting in boxes. The scanner has more features than I imagined. I can put 4 photos on the scanner bed and it will scan one at a time AND straighten them. It will also enhance faded photos. I have not learned more about other features, but this little scanner has saved me hours of work, not to mention saving old faded photographs. I love this scanner!
I would recommend this to a friend!

Versatile scanner

I have an inexpensive multifunction printer and there scanner has very limited capability, 600 dpi. I took on the task of scanning all of my family's old family photos, somewhere in the neighborhood of 500 photos. Because of the man hour investment and posterity, I wanted good high resolution digital copies. This scanner allowed me to produce 1200 dpi color, 24 bit digital copies. It has a setting for black and white photos in a great 8 bit grayscale. The quality of my digital copies is worthy of the time I am spending handlng all these photos and will allow my family to print food, high quality photos. Compact and portable to let me setup wherever I want to do this work. I sm pleased with the 'bang for the buck' I gotten out of this scanner.

Just what I needed

For the mother of all projects, 65 years of photographs. I’m scanning and saving a lifetime of photographs with this scanner. For the price paid, I’m very happy with the job it is doing.

Not that great

I bought it for the my home office, about a month ago. I cannot select part of the document/photo to scan, it will scan the whole doc without letting me select if I want part of it scanned.(older epson will allow it) Theres also no driver for the latest Mac Operating system. To get it started I have to disconnect from computer turn off computer connect and turn on computer. hopefully when the driver comes up ti will work. Once I get it to work it does the job. Cannot recommend if you have a MAC with the latest OS

Excellent Scanning Device

I've had the Epson Perfection V39 Scanner for a number of years and it has always performed when I really needed it. Using this scanner and storing business and family information has been a God-Send for these situations. I recommend the Epson product line of Scanners when you're selecting scanners!!!

very dissappointing

This unit has a very small depth of field. If it is not directly touching the bed, it will be fuzzy. Also, it freezes up continually. I have to close the program and restart constantly. I sometimes find myself restarting 50-75 times in just 1 day. What a pain. I really miss my Epson Perfection 3490. It was a workhorse for me for years.
