Can't tell a friend to buy outdated tech like I did!

I purchased my Samsung Tab to replace a tablet that failed the impact test with concrete. I had purchased the extended warranty with it and received a gift card which limited my options since it was an office supply type store card. I live mainly in the iOS world, but liked my previous Android tablet. I didn't know enough about the differences between non-native devices and how they applied to the android world. The Samsung I bought was an extremely good value, but I should've spent the extra money for a more modern tablet. The build quality seems very good and it's certainly easier to use than the original Nexus 7 ( 1st generation ) tablet was. I'd like to see less "bloat-ware" however. I like many of Samsung's products and that was a big part of why I chose the product over less expensive choices. If I had to do it over I'd buy the Galaxy Tab 4 despite the price difference.
Pros: Inexpensive, Realistic color, good performance for what it is.
Cons: it's a bit sluggish performance wise, i can't update to more modern android os
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

This device works very well, especially for the price. Functions very fast with very little difference in processing speed when compared to more expensive devices. Camera works well, sound is clear and sufficiently loud in most situations. As someone new to tablets, this exceeded my expectations is every way except for one. The GPS is virtually useless. I have tried several GPS apps and they all have similar problems. Looking up an address is virtually impossible without wi-fi, even though I've installed the latest maps. Sometimes the satellite just can't find my current location, even when I'm outside. And when it does work, the GPS takes just too much time to catch up to a moving car. One of my jobs is chauffeuring and as a GPS tool, this device has failed me again and again regardless of which navigation app I'm using. It is for this reason alone that I am returning this device immediately.
Pros: Built-in speakers, Bright display, Inexpensive, Realistic color
Cons: Did not meet expectations
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

It stills has a kids mode and that is great since I bought it for my eight year old daughter. She also likes it.
I bought this tablet, or should I say took my son to purchase it for his birthday with the money he got. Great price and we love Samsung products; they last and don't tend to have issues. It's fine for him at 8 years old and for the near future, but hate that there isn't a forward facing camera and when loading web pages the print is small. He uses it mainly for games, so as a parent I love the kids mode and the fact it has a timer. You set it to how long they can play and when their time is up it shows the sleeping alligator and they can't do anything else or get to things you don't want them seeing or browsing.
