Best tablet on the market if it weren't for hardware issues

I've owned this tablet now for a little less than sixth months and purchased to replace an ipad2 I had previously owned for several years. The tablet is sleek, lightweight, quick response, and has pretty good battery life. I liked this device much better than the iPad I previously owned.
Recently, though the device hardware has failed. My backlight on my screen went out all of a sudden and the earphone connection no longer works. Since this is only 5 months old it's still covered under Samsung's warranty but I have to mail it in and wait 2 weeks for it to be repaired or replaced.

I've owned many devices over the years and this is my first experience where hardware failed, and it's really surprising since the device is so new and has been well taken care of. I would say this is the best tablet on the market if it weren't for the quality and hardware defects that I have experienced. Hopefully my experience is an anomaly, but I don't think I would recommend this to any friends solely based on the amount of time it takes to repair

I've really enjoyed using the Tablet. It seems to have a good amount of features and performance is good. Its just a tad laggy at times but not very noticeable and still useable for normal use.
Pros: Built-in speakers, Lightweight

My wife and I have an Ipad and liked it ok. We bought S4 phones and love them and then I bought the Samsung tab for myself, but my wife took it over. We both like the Tab much better than ipad.

I was agonizing over buying this 1 inch Galaxy Tab Pro, but since we take a laptop on our travels we preferred the 12 inch screen to use the tablet in lieu of the heavier laptop. The screen quality is great.

This was my first tablet purchase and so far, I am very pleased with it.
I mostly use my tablet for browsing, Netflix and games. For my purposes, it's been great. Clean, crisp display and easy to use.
I am interested in digging through it more and maybe using it for some work activities as well.
Pros: Bright display, Durable, Lightweight

The tablet has given me more mobility to be able to use several features. I use it to read books, play games, keep up with my friends and my email. I also use it for my business items. I use this much more than my laptop.

Had this product for a couple of months and am enjoying it as a compliment to my Samsung TV and phone. Still learning how to use these together. I often use it in place of my phone apps which saves battery power on my phone and also for reading PDFs instead of printing them out.
