Purchased just over 2 years ago and worked great until an internal short and of course it is more to fix it than to just buy a new one. Usually happy with Samsung stuff all my other items have been good but this microwave makes me not want to buy their appliances.
Cons: Did not meet expectations, Poor quality
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Stopped functioning after warranty period

This microwave suddenly stopped working. The power is still on and when the start button is pressed it will just click then turn the light on and does nothing. I can tell it isn't working because the humming sound while it is running does not happen anymore . You can see the timer counting down but nothing is happening.
Cons: Did not meet expectations, Poor quality
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

We used the microwave a few times and the sensor for Potato Cooking sopped working. After a little over a year the whole microwave died on us. This is the first time in our lives that a microwave stops working, couldn't believe it for a Samsung product. We buy everything Samsung because we believed in the brand. Now we don't know what to think.
Pros: attractive design
Cons: Did not meet expectations
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

The features are very adequate, without being so overly sophisticated that they're useless for the average person. Sometimes simple is better. Downside: There should be at least three bolts securing the front of the microwave to the the cabinet so as not to distort the top panel at the front. My 10 year old Samsung (almost identical to this one) had three bolts. Secondly, a previous reviewer reported the touch buttons take more pressure to push, a slight annoyance. He was absolutely right. So, if you are feint of finger, choose another. I'm happy enough.
Pros: Inexpensive, good value for the price.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Great Microwave, but missing 2 key features

I love my Samsung products as they have always been high quality and expect nothing less from this microwave. I was very disappointed to learn after installing and contrary to the product paperwork enclosed (which I later found was not accurate for my product), that the timer does not function simultanelously with the cook function.
This is the first over the range microwave I have owned where if you have the timer set, you can't use the cook function, and if you are cooking, you can't use the timer. This along with the fact there is no "quick minute" button - you have to manually input the time or punch the "add 30 seconds" button and then push the start button for it to start running.
I miss these functions dearly and would not have bought the unit had I know
Cons: no "quick minute" button, timer can't be used when in cook mode

Bought this to replace an aging OTR microwave. Unit had serious over heating issues immediately. The inner wall next to the controls would too hot to touch. Now the unit won't heat at all. Probably the magnatron, which isn't difficult to replace. However, we've experienced too may issues to consider putting more money into it. We have decided to replace rather than repair, and it won't be a Samsung unit we replace it with.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Broke in less than two months

in less than two months it started to not warming up the food at all two of every three times. And I am not talking about smart sensor. It will not warm up a regular steam in the bag food. This is my second Samsung micro oven, the previous one broke in less than a year
