Samsung Galaxy Nexus and latter products are great. They are the best phones you can buy and have!! A tip would be buy the extended battery (3800 mAh) and the car charger as well as a phone case protector!..........download apps to enhance your speaker/ringtone volume.
Pros: Built-in speakers, Bright display, Durable, Realistic color, great features
Cons: buy a case protector for drops

Bright. Beautiful. Blazing Fast.

I went and purchased my Galaxy Nexus yesterday after receiving an email from Samsung announcing it had finally arrived.
After less than 30 minutes in the store of them setting it up and getting it initiated, I was done. I downloaded a few app there in the store and went along my day.
The screen is beautiful, view-able from almost any angle, bright when needed and always colorful. The TI OMAP4 processor and GPU are blazing fast and runs even heavy games like Wind-Up Knight and N64 emulations flawlessly. Additionally, 720p video is rendered flawlessly; I watched SALT last and it was beautiful. The SAMOLD HD screen is once again, beautiful.
The 4G LTE is amazing. While on 4G, I have pulled speeds constantly >30 mbps download and >18 mpbs upload; which is roughly 4 times faster than my Bellsouth DSL internet connection at home.
The Zero lag shutter for the camera is amazing too. I can take sequential picture within the same second. The panoramic picture taking is very cool as well. It eliminates that need to render panoramic at a computer from several pictures taken. It works fast and the rendering is done well. Crisp pictures are saved even when lighting conditions are not the best.
Although I have owned the pone from little more than 24 hours, I am more than pleased with the overall performance of the Galaxy Nexus and if I could buy a 2nd Nexus just to have, I would.
Pros: Built-in speakers, Bright display, Durable, Realistic color, blazing fast, big screen, slim design, screen capture, android 4.0
Cons: battery concerns, plastic body

The best smartphone on the market, PERIOD.

For the first offering of ICS, I think this phone delivers phenomenally! I have zero lag when pinch-to-zooming and switching homescreens and so far everything is working as intended. The form factor is great and feels good in my hands. I have medium to medium-large hands, and so far it feels at home in my hand when I hold it. ICS has been a pleasure to use overall, and it can only get better. The screen is super crisp when watching videos, and everyone is jealous when I watch a video full screen and the buttons disappear. Overall a great phone... definitely blows the iPhone4S out of the water!
Pros: Realistic color, Bright display, android 4.0

I love my Galaxy Nexus. My main concern was the screen size but it feels great in my hand. The camera is fast, the screen is gorgeous and the overall build quality is top notch.
Pros: great design, beautiful screen, good audio when listening to headphones, great call quality
Cons: battery life due to lte

Absolutely Love My Galaxy Nexus
on December 29, 2011

I purchased my Galaxy Nexus as a christmas present to myself this year. I would say that it is really one of the best smartphone experiences out there today. Samsung and Google created a really well made smartphone this time. Ice Cream Sandwich runs so smoothly and effortlessly thanks to the 1.2Ghz dual-core processor that is inside. In combination with Verizon's 4G LTE network, this thing is a speed demon. The buttons are well placed on this phone - coming from an HTC smartphone, I'm used to having the power button being located at the top of the phone, however it's become more natural feeling for me to have the power button the side of the phone, where my thumb is a more natural place to press the button. The volume rocker on my Nexus is a little wobbly, however. When you shake the phone you can hear the piece shaking ever-so-lightly not something that you would expect on a flagship phone at this price point. However the only three buttons on the entire device have a nice feel when they are depressed, giving good feedback to the user. I love the location of the headphone jack and the charging/USB port. It makes using the phone while charging much more convenient as opposed to other devices whose manufacturers have decided to place the charging/USB port on the side. I can understand that they might have placed it there so that it is easy to dock the phone into a docking station. However that's where Samsung was smart with the Galaxy Nexus as they have included a three-pin charging port on the side of this phone. I personally haven't had the chance to use this piece of technology yet as, at least to my knowledge, they have not released any accessories that utilize the three-pin port. The screen on this device is gorgeous, however it doesn't go without it's flaws. The first Galaxy Nexus (yes I had to exchange one), had a defect in the screen in which you could see streaks in the display, especially in white backgrounds. Also there was a noticeable blotchiness in the grays of the screen. However the second device I received did not have this problem at all. I am disappointed that Samsung did not choose to use its Super AMOLED plus screen; the pentile arrangement of the Galaxy Nexus is noticeable at times and while the majority of people will not make note of it, to me, when its apparent, it's like an elephant standing in the room. Another quibble I have is that Samsung chose not to use Corning's Gorilla Glass. I understand that OEM's are starting to choose not to use their glass because of the cost, so I guess we'll just have to see how Samsung's reinforced glass stands up to the test of time. Don't get me wrong, now, the screen on the Galaxy Nexus is drop-dead gorgeous, and while it doesn't have the pixel density of some other smartphones, it's still just as stunning, if not more. The contrast ratio is very high and blacks are very black and the colors just pop on this thing. This is very apparent when playing a game like Dead Space; the screen just pops out at you. Call quality is very good on the Nexus, and I haven't had any complaints of anyone not being able to hear me and I'm usually able to hear everyone pretty clearly. The speakerphone is quite tinny at times though. That leads to me to the somewhat low speaker volume. When you're playing music or something, the volume can be quite low. I know that there are other smartphones that are capable of playing much louder music. Sometimes when I'm playing games it's so quiet, however the volume is all the way up.
The build quality of the Galaxy Nexus is not top-notch, however it's up there. Compared to other smartphones today, some of the materials that Samsung chose to use are a little questionable. Why use plastic instead of metal? Metal gives the phone a much more durable feeling and gives it a much stronger feeling of good craftsmanship. The design is very simple and I love it. When the screen is off it just looks like a plane of glass, and because the navigational controls are part of the displace, there's nothing but black glass. It's really a nice site to look at. I like the feeling of the phone in my hand though, it feels very comfortable, yet it still doesn't have that quality feeling compared to other phones. It's up there, just not at the very top - somewhat disappointing for a flagship phone. One of my biggest gripes in the camera. It's not so much that it's only 5 megapixels, but indoor shots are just not good at all. The pictures I take with my Galaxy Nexus are full of noise and will never pass as a replacement for a point and shoot camera, however I do love the fact that there is zero shutter lag, so I can capture precious moments at a heart's beat. Photo quality is good, but again, I'm not going to be replacing my traditional SLR anytime soon. Video quality is pretty good, however I think the lower frame rate of the camera really affects the video quality and results in a somewhat choppy video. I haven't had a chance to mess around with NFC yet, however I like that Samsung has chosen to implement it into the Galaxy Nexus.
Don't get me wrong, it may sound like there are a lot of negatives to this smartphone, however they are minor details that most people will never notice and never care about. These are just little nit-picky things that I have noticed with my phones, and there are a lot of things that I do appreciate about my Galaxy Nexus. This is is SUPER fast, I mean not only on the internet, but navigating through it super fast. No other Android phone can compete. And the OS of this thing is just amazing, and intuitive. It really is different than other Android OS' (with the exception of honeycomb), and may take some time getting used to but it really is an excellent experience. There are just a few gripes I have with this phone, but I strongly recommend it to anyone thinking of upgrading or getting into the smartphone field.
Pros: Bright display, Lightweight, vivid screen, ncf inclusion, ice cream sandwich, hd display, call quality, 4g lte (verizon)
Cons: subpar quality, short battery life, camera quality, video quality, no super amoled plus screen
I would recommend this to a friend!

Great phone except for potential glass breakage

In 30 years I have never dropped a phone. Amazing huh? Well I placed it on a TV tray for convenience to my couch becasue I was recovering from knee replacement surgery. My Boston terrier(30 lb male) jumped on couch and when I pushed him off he knocked over TV tray and phone landed on the fireplace surface below. It must have landed on corner because that's where impact point appeared and cracked all the way across.Didn't get cover just the screen protector. Get the cover if you are clumsy becasue the glass is not break proof. Otherwise it's an amazing phone with the Ice Cream Sandwich software.
Pros: Bright display, Realistic color, Lightweight, fast, sleek
Cons: glass may break easily
