Solid Phone - after the updates
on January 16, 2013

This turned out to be a really solid smartphone with a true Google experience. However, the initial experience was incredibly frustrating due to my receipt of a bad build of the phone and the intermittent software issues. A replacement phone and recent updates have fixed all of those issues and I can now comfortably say this is the best smartphone I have owned.
Pros: Durable, Realistic color, Lightweight
I would recommend this to a friend!

Nice phone, but connectivity issues

I am on my third Nexus phone, having returned the prior two due to an inability to stay connected to the wireless network. I love everything else about this phone, but even this third phone will randomly drop calls or disconnect from the data connection.
Pros: Bright display, Lightweight
Cons: struggles to stay connected to network

Nexus phones are great

But the battery life is atrociously bad. I'd kind of forgotten, since I sit next to a charger all day but using my old Droid 2 while my GNex goes home to get its USB port repaired has made me realize how bad my battery life really is. I'd say it's worth it to have that big, pretty screen but there are smartphones with big, pretty screens that get way better battery life. It got better with the first update to the LTE radio, but it still kind of stinks. It goes down 1-2% per minute if you're using it.
Pros: Bright display, Realistic color, Lightweight
Cons: battery life
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Nexus

This galaxy nexus is one incredible phone. Over the past year, there have been updates and better processors, and better cameras, but this device, by far has been one of the best designed phones for comfort, size, durability, and best Nexus Android Experiences yet. The touch buttons on this device was by far the best decision to have gone with, why we are not going back to a physical home button I don't know or particularly care for. I won a galaxy Note 2 and love all the features and camera technologies from super slow motion video for bio-mechanical analysis to the multiple pictures able to be taken in a single video clip, but I miss the Nexus like experience. The touch buttons on this device and the customization was key to the success of this device. A bigger batter would have helped, but overall a great product!
Pros: Built-in speakers, Bright display, Inexpensive, Durable, Realistic color, Lightweight
Cons: battery size
I would recommend this to a friend!

Awesome Phone

This was my first Samsung Phone and i loved alot about it but i had my issues, first Verizon slowly pushes out the updates for the phone and causes it to be behind. I don't know if they just don't care about it or not. The other issue i always has was random restarts and battery issues. The phone would turn off and back on at times for no reason and the battery will not hold all day even if not doing anything but calls on the phone. Other than those issues i loved the phone, it was my first phone with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich and i loved that OS
Pros: Built-in speakers, Bright display, Durable, Realistic color, Lightweight
Cons: Did not meet expectations, battery life, random reboots, poor signal

Best phone I've had to date!

This phone is rock solid when it comes to modding and overall performance. If you're looking for a good, Android-powered phone, then this thing works wonders stock. It has great performance and a decent amount of features without any major modification. The major benefit to this phone is that it is part of the Nexus series which means it really is a "Google" phone. This indicates that at its core, the phone is one for developers. The bootloader is easily unlocked, it is simple to root, and therefore customize. You will find a plethora of custom roms and kernels out there, some very lean and efficient, others jam packed with custom features.
Overall, great performance, the screen is fantastic, amazing support community, and it's very easy to customize. Only con I have is battery life. This phone knows how to suck power (even without custom roms). The extended battery helps, but it's still tough to get through an entire day of moderate use. Keep a car charger handy.
Pros: Bright display, Durable, Realistic color, Lightweight, stock google android
Cons: battery life could be better
I would recommend this to a friend!

Worst battery life

It's a stable phone that gets the latest & greatest Android updates, and has a great display. The battery life is just horrid though, and can be drained in 2 hours of non-talk usage. Also, if you drop it - consider it gone. Glass screen shatters easily.
Pros: Bright display, Lightweight
Cons: battery life, easily damaged
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
