This sound bar has awesome connectivity and works flawlessly. My only gripe, if it can be called such, is that its the only device in my cec connected chain (device, soundbar, and tv) that does not turn on automatically when the device is turned on. It wakes up when I connect bluetooth, but not when I start my nvidia shield android tv or ps3. Not worth docking a star, though, this device performs amazingly well and if you had any doubts, don't. Buy it now.
The SONY Sound bar replaced my older 5 channel surround system and is as good if not better quality with less wires while able to remove the previous speakers form the wall mounts. I like the App to adjust the sound to the source (music, movie etc) BUT ...
The big BUT (no pun intended) is that I would've expected SONY to also provide one APP that will work with my SONY TV, the Sound Bar, and the new DVD/Stream device. They have an integrated iPhone APP, but my top of the line 3 year old 55 inch 3D TV wasn't supported.
Ease of use is a major differentiation now, and if the APP can't help then it negates the good hardware. No one wants to fiddle with multiple remotes and a limited APP.
Overall pretty good sound. It would be nice to have some control ofer the midrange frequencies in addition to the bass and treble. Don't care much for the app that can be used to control the soundbar. But the good news is you don't have to use the app.
Not bad but expected more bang for the buck. Guess I'll need to tweek it a little more. I do like the ARC feature for my smart tv and how it links to SW so nicely with no problems. I always liked Sony products and have several.
I am not super knowledgeable about electronics but this sound system was so worth every penny and I love it so much! Amazing sound ; bass; and makes music realistic!
I would recommend this to a friend!

Hi LRP09, You don't have to be knowledgeable to know which one gives out the best sound, all you need are open ears. Thank you for choosing Sony, we appreciate it.
Set up too confusing. Otherwise works well with good sound.

Hello Herm! Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us, we will make sure to pass this feedback to the proper department for future reference.
So it's "only a 2.1 channel" soundbar, but to be honest I don't see much need beyond 2 channels and the sub, considering the soundbar is placed in front of you (and not around you).
What can I say? The sound is excellent (for all uses). The price is right, and the core features are there. (Bluetooth works well and is easy to pair devices). The subwoofer requires pretty much no setup which is appreciated. It pairs to the bar the first time you use it with zero intervention required.
One edge this soundbar has over some slightly older models is that it has an HDCP 2.2 port. For those who don't know, thats essentially an HDMI port that will probably wind up being required when 4K Ultra-HD Blu-Ray players come out. If the player requires HDCP and your soundbar/TV doesnt have it, then you're out of luck - it won't work. While only 1 of the 3 HDMI ports are HDCP, it does at least have it whereas some devices don't.
As a final added bonus, if you happen to use this with certain TVs (I happen to have a Sony XBR-55X850C), it syncs flawlessly with it. No need for multiple, remotes. The power/volume/mute/input controls are completely synced between both the TV and Soundbar which was quite satisfying. It won't be a feature for everyone, but for those who do use it - it's pretty sweet.
Ultimately though for the price, quality, and easy setup, this is an excellent option for those looking to upgrade their TV sound without buying a receiver and separate speakers.
