Beware of the smart remote

First off, the picture is quite good. But so are the pictures on most the other TVs. This model and several other come with what Samsung calls a "Smart Remote" which does not have a number of buttons usually found in just about every other remote. Two of those buttons are "Fast Forward" and "Rewind". For a smart TV featuring 100s of streaming apps, a basic requirement would be to fast forward and rewind content and it is not possible to do that. Some apps like Netflix and Youtube provide a software option to achieve that feature. It is much more cumbersome that pressing the FF and REW buttons on the remote but the feature exists. With apps like HBOGo, there is no way to fast forward or rewind content. Huge bummer.
BTW, if you have a non-smart remote from another Samsung TV (have one from 2009), the fast forward and rewind buttons work as they should when playing HBOGo on the "smart" tv. So HBOGo does support fast forward and rewind features in their app. The Samsung "smart" remote does not provide a way to send those signals.
Certainly not worth the hassle and I am looking to return it.
Cons: Did not meet expectations, "smart" remote is a huge negative.

A glimpse of the future

Very good 4k tv but a lesser 3d tv. Sound is good but could have been better.
Only one 3d glass free for the tv which is also disapointing. Looking for more apps updates as currently it is meagre.

VERY GREAT TV

This is the greatest TV I have ever owned. The picture is crisp and clearer than anything I have seen anywhere. The only downside I have with it is that there is not a seperate app for Acorn TV. I watch it a lot and wanted to get to it directly thru my TV. I have to go through you tube to view any Acorn shows and it requires more unnecessary step.
Pros: Built-in speakers, Bright display
Cons: screen can become damaged easier than non curved

Very Disappointed

The picture quality is WOW. But when I try to use the NETFLIX feature, you have to go through a time consuming process to activate the app. First you need to go into the internet settings and change the DNS to 8,8,8,8. Then for about 1 day you get Netflix to work. The next day you try to use the app and all you get is "BLACK SCREEN". So after going online where other Samsung users are disappointed they say to reset the Smart Hub, turn off the TV and you can then go back to NETFLIX, put your email account in , password back in and then you get to watch NETFLIX for a day, before you have to do it all over again. The tech said it is in Samsung FIRWARE that needs to be updated. I was thinking about buying a Samsung 3d UHD blue ray player, but if the FIRMWARE of that device is like the TV, why bother. Until they fix the FIRMWARE problem, don't get the TV. Too much of a bother.
