3 years old dead in garage lost Elk meat!!!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We purchased this freezer less than three years ago. Very disappointed that we now do not have a freezer and lost our elk meat . Not sure what problem is yet, but would not recommend this product if in less than three years stops working.

nice freezer so far

We bought this freezer in an attempt to keep the fridge in the house (single door fridge with freezer on the bottom) not so packed all the time. At this time all is good the freezer runs at about -5 and is set on the colder end of the middle setting. Not bad considering its in my garage and I live In Scottsdale az. I read the shelves are semi adjustable, but hadn't tried it yet. Good freezer, good size not huge, all good.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Service is awful.

First service call: caulk around door seal; second call: tech people say turn down cooling to number from 5 to 2; third call: borrowed my hammer and beat on the corner of the frame, more caulk; fourth call: tech people say to order new part. We are waiting for part to arrive. No one seems to be able to determine the problem and fix it!
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Great freezer

I bought this freezer about 3 weeks ago so I could buy a side of beef. After researching and reading reviews I decided on Frigidaire due to the fact it received good reviews and the best part it's made in the USA. So far I could not be more pleased with the operation and build quality. I picked this up from the store and unpacking and leveling was easy and only took a few minutes. After being plugged in for 2 hours the internal temperature reading on the freezer thermometer i placed inside was 20 degrees. After 4 hours it was reading 0 degrees. I purchased an accurite digital thermometer to monitor the internal temp by displaying the reading on the base unit placed outside the freezer. I adjusted the temperature control dial to 5 and the next morning the temperature was reading -12, this is great since it is sitting in my 90 degree garage. I readjusted the temperature control dial to just a bit past 4 and the temperature is now reading -8 which is where I have had it set since. I thought that by being in the outdoor summertime high temperatures the freezer would run a lot to maintain the -8 internal temperature but more often than not when I walk outside it is not running and the -8 temperature continues to be maintained.
I have read some reviews about it being loud. I can say that my freezer is not loud at all. You can hear it running but it is no louder than the 15 year old refrigerator that sat in the same spot in my garage that this replaced.
The LED lighting is very bright and makes it easy to see.
The interior design fits my needs by providing adjustable wire shelves. And the door bins hold smaller items just fine making it easy to open the door grab what I need and close it quick without having to hunt for what I am looking for and loose a lot of cold air.
I feel very confident I made the right choice and this freezer will continue to perform for years and provide safe storage for my food.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I bought this freezer 3 months ago and really really love it ! there is so much space there! No drawers to take up room,easy to open up and find everything right there open in plain sight. And the coolest thing is when you close the door you can actually here the air being sucked out!!!!

It's a freezer, it freezes

This was a replacement for a 17 yr old Frigidaire because I needed a larger size. It does what it's supposed to do and keeps things frozen. I do like the pull-up baskets and the adjustable door bins to help organize the contents. It also has a really good seal. What I don't like is how much heat it puts off and how loud it is. The 17 yr old freezer barely makes any noise at all.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Using as a Beverage Refrigerator

I bought this refrigerator in July to use to store beverages; cans, beer bottles, wine bottles, water, etc. Overall, it is a great refrigerator so far. One problem, though, the wire shelves are not strong enough to support the weight of glass bottles. The bottles topple over and the shelves are starting to bow. I wish I could get tempered glass shelves for this unit.
