I'm a gamer and avid nerd. I purchased a 4k tv when they were still new on the market and super expensive.
I've been an Evil Dead fan since my father came home from the rental store with Evil Dead on VHS. I've seen this in virtually every format.
I can't tell the difference between the 4k and Bluray versions. For the price this one might seem like a cash grab unless you've never seen the movie before.

Although "The Evil Dead' is scarier and "Army of Darkness" is funnier, I feel that "Evil Dead 2" is the best film overall in the series. The violence is insanely over-the-top and the slapstick humor is very funny. The DVD has some nice special features, including a documentary on the special effects ("The Gore, the Merrier"). Highly recommended.
What's great about it: great film, good special features

Bruce Campbell once again kicks butt as Ash. This is a very comedic horror movie with some good special effects. Decent amount of gore, but lots of Humor.

Before director Sam Raimi made the Spider-Man Trilogy, he was responsible for another trilogy, a low budget balls to the wall trilogy made up of Horror film 'The Evil Dead', Horror/Comedy 'Evil Dead 2: Dead By Dawn' and Adventure/Comedy 'Army of Darkness'. 'Evil Dead 2' begins by essentially remaking the first film. Instead of 5 friends on a trip to an isolated Cabin in the woods, now it's just Ash (Bruce Campbell) and his girlfriend Linda. When they reach the cabin, Ash discovers a tape recorder left by the previous owner, an archeologist who found and translated the book of the dead. By listening to the professors translations, Ash accidently re-unleashes the evil that has been awakened and Linda becomes the first victim. As Ash desperatly tries to escape he discovers that he's now trapped, due to the destruction of the bridge and attempts to barracade himself inside the cabin. Things get worse when the professors daughter, her boyfriend and two hicks show up looking for the professor and his wife and find a bloody, trashed cabin instead. Believing that Ash murdered them, the four lock Ash in the basement, unaware that the professor has a secret of his own buried down there with him. After learning the truth about what is going on and loosing one of their own, the surviving three team up with Ash in an attempt to survive the night, only it's not going to be that easy. 'Evil Dead 2' is a fun, bloody and entertaining horror/comedy with a unique style of it's own. The camera movements and angles are expertly done to give the unseen evil a characteristic. The film also has a solid protagonist who's well praised in the horror community. If you're looking for a good horror film to get away from the garbage produced today, check out this movie.

This is probably my favorite horror movie. It has a perfect blend of edge of your seat horror and 3 Stooges-esque slapstick humor. In fact, the dark humor of this movie tends to add to the horror because it is just so bizzare. When every object in the cabin starts laughing at Ash is a perfect example of how the humor and creepiness work hand in hand in this film. Bruce Campbell is at his best here as well. For the dvd, there is a neat making of feature and audio commentary from Bruce and director Sam Raimi. This is deffinitely a must have for any horror fan.
What's great about it: It's scary and funny at the same time
What's not so great: Besides Bruce, there is some bad acting

When a group of foolish kids in a cabin mistakenly play a recording of satanic incantations and wake demons and other things in the forest, one of the--namely Ash, played perfectly by Bruce Campbell--rises up and saves the day...kind of.
