I love Roku

I have the Roku XS 2. When I bought the Roku I initially bought it just to stream Netflix. I don't have cable so it's a great substitute. It has other streaming movies channels as well so that's a plus especially when Netflix is down. I've had it a little over a year now. The only issue I've had is the remote stopeped working. I had to unpug it and everything had to be reset. But that's a minor issue and everything is working properly now. Another thing is the credit card that is required when registering your roku online. (There are certain streaming programs/games that require you to purchase before using them) In order to get around this you will have to call roku support and they will register you without that info. (I only use the free streaming programs.)
Pros: Improved Audio/Video, Simple Controls, Attractive Design, Fast Setup

Great solution for my guest room!

I have an older TV in my guest room that's not on cable and it's been sitting gathering dust! Now it's been completely transformed and useful! The kids can watch a movie, TV, sports updates or whatever else they can find (as can our guests when we have them). I also like that you need a code to order anything - this way the kids or guests aren't running up our bill. Great solution for an older TV set off the cable grid... can't wait to see what the newer Roku boxes do for me...

Goodbye Dish!

When Dish raised prices (again!), I decided to listen to my son, who has been using Roku, and saving money, for quite awhile. I am pleased. I rarely watched live TV anyway; I am just not in to the junk reality shows and other poor content on network TV. I am finding most of the shows I want. I just wish that more channels provided closed captioning, which is a must for this hearing-impaired user.
Pros: Attractive Design, Fast Setup, Simple Controls

Cost effective, does what it says!

After of enough of hype from my friend, I got this little box about a week ago and boy, I love it. Best part is, my 7-year old could set it up (I did the cabling :)), it is that easy. It delivers all it promises all at the cost of $49. And I can connect this little box with my old 27" TV as well. It is tiny and saves lot of clutter. I would appreciate a non-IR remote or remote extender as it would allow me to stick my Roku to back of my TV.
The choice of content is very contemporary and has most popular genres and channels. 720p is good enough for my HDTV. 1000+ channels, but I have no intention or time to try all of them :)
The one thing I miss from my friend's Roku is few Indian channels that came with YuppTV, it is not available any more with Roku. The Dishworld is $15 a month to begin with but quickly turns $40 a month which is hefty. But hey, that is Dishworld's problem.

I use the Roku LT player every day while watching Netflix movies and listening to music on Pandora. When it seems like there is nothing to watch on TV, this is the ultimate alternative for entertainment.

Purchased mine about 2 months ago and we love it! Very easy to install and operate. So many channels and a LOT of free shows. I am buying a Roku for every TV in the house.

I have been thinking of buying a Roku for a long time and when a friend showed me hers I decided to wait no more. I use it every day to watch either Netflix or TV shows on PlayOn. I will be cancelling my cable account soon and am buying 2 more Roku LT's for Christmas. I highly recommend it and am always telling people about how much I love it.

way better the wii

got this over a year ago - I like to make sure I like something before I post a review ) the wii constantly interrupted the shows with ' Loading' no such problem the this low end roku - love it - got rid of our cable carrier - just pay for high speed internet - saving a good $100 a mo - and even I was able to set it up in no time at all - very unusual for me - highly recommend !
