I bought the BP 540 player and a LG 3d TV at the same time. The smart features are great and easy to use. The only negative is that I paid extra for 3D features that I don't need/appreciate, as the picture quality w/o 3D is, in my opinion, as good as 3D. To try out the 3D option, I bought a 3d movie, "The Desolation of Smaug" and enjoyed it on regular TV as much as I did on 3D. I do not have the slightest bit of buyer's remorse after 4 1/2 months of use.
Pros: Performance, easy to use, Features/Settings, Quality

Wanted a player that played 3D and had the smart features as well. This one fit the bill and was in stock.
One Con: the remote isn't extremely responsive....but can deal with that...
Pros: Performance, easy to use, Features/Settings, Quality

Great Smart Blu-Ray! Very user friendly with lots of great apps. Set up is so easy and only takes a few minutes to be up and running. You can't beat the price for getting a Blu-Ray that is also a Smart Device. Greatly enhaces the piture quailty. LG products are always top of the line. I own several LG products and have never had an issue with any device. This is my second Smart Blu-Ray. The first one is 5 years old and still works like the day I bought it. Priceless!

Some minor issues

Overall, this is a typical BluRay player, but does have some features that need improving.
1. Remote control is slow when using it for typing.
2. If you are not directly in front of the player, it takes several tries to get it to turn on.
3. When putting in a disc, it should automatically load, not ask if you want the disc or one of the other detected devices.

I wanted something that I could watch Netflix, etc on. I checked out several different types and brands, but this one had more features and best price.
It was easy to setup and get started.

I bought this Blu-Ray player a couple of months ago and have been pleased. It has some good features, including access to Netflix. If I had a negative it would be I couldn't get the wireless feature to work. But, I purchased a HDMI cable and that works fine. As of this date, I haven't tried a 3D movie, so I can't attest to how good or bad that feature is. Overall, a great player for the price.

Ease of setup is AWESOME! Wifi is no hassle at all. This is my 4th BD player from LG. ALL of them work great. 3 of them cover both my bedrooms and family room. The 4th works fine but was upgraded to a 540 due to the online programs availability. The only personal drawback to all of them is the remote. I don't like the remote navigation buttons. The center circular pattern is almost universal throughout remotes, My hands are rather small for a man. One would think I would have no trouble using the remote, however, those 5 buttons are placed so it is easy to press more than 1 button which renders your desired action to not be accomplished correctly. The players interact with my LG TV just fine. I would like to see the the remote remodeled to afford more positive control over which button is pushed.
