Looks good, performance is sub par

I am on exactly my 2nd year with this dishwasher. I picked it because I liked the style and design and features. The drying is very poor even with rinse aid. I have to use the Sahara setting to get my dishes dry which defeats the purpose of energy saving. The soap dispenser doesn't open every time. I often open the dishwasher to find the door closed still containing soap. Now I can't get any other cycle except quick wash to work. No matter what buttons I press I am receiving an error code. Let me say I am a small family of 2 so we are not putting this machine through the ringer. Don't even run every day. I am going to have to call for service and I dread the thought of that expense.

Every since we have bought this dishwasher it doesn't seem to get the dishes clean. They are still dirty when we go to put them away. I have my water on the hottest setting so it isn't how hot my water is. Also, their is no debris at the bottom of the dishwasher. Now this darn thing will not drain. It has just been a pain since we got it. We also use the Finish powerball detergent and it doesn't seem to dissolve it half the time. We will open the dishwasher after the cycle and the detergent is either still in the compartment or it has just fallen out and sits there on the bottom. Very frustrating for an expensive dishwasher.

AVOID AT ALL COST!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We have an XXL family (in number, not in size), so we bought two of these dishwashers. Having sold appliances for two years, I thought we were getting quality products since "Gallery" is Frigidaire's top line. After 5 months of use, we already have an error code. They don't clean well. Seriously, STAY AWAY! I'm not saying the other appliances are bad, just don't buy this one!

XXL Family, I hate to hear of your disappointment with the dishwasher. Our records indicate that our Authorized Service Providers are working diligently to return your dishwasher to fully functional status, so we can regain your confidence and trust. Here are some ideas that can positively impact your cleaning and drying effectiveness. The “sweet” spot for water temperature is between 120-125 degrees (at the water heater) for the best cleaning and drying potential. Make sure you run the water in the sink until it is hot (like you would do before getting in the shower). The hot water line to the dishwasher must provide water pressure between 20 and 120 psi. Don’t forget the rinse aid, in hard water (like you have in Iowa) you may need to increase the amount dispensed (page 15 in your Owner’s Manual). Using the high temp wash or sanitize can also improve cleaning and drying performance. Is the heater (inside on the bottom of the dishwasher) covered by a heavy mineral or calcium scale (looks like white spots on the heater)? If it is, start a cycle with no dishes in it. Once it has finished the initial fill, add 1 cup of white vinegar to the bottom and let it finish the cycle Please don’t hesitate to reconnect with us directly if you have any questions. Had this dishwasher for 2 years, already had it replaced once still trying to get it working trouble free. Error i30 currently giving me troubles. Would like to have gotten 5 years out of it before needing to service it

But after only1 year dishes come out dirty, even after rinsing before loading in DW. Also notice they are never dry, and glasses come out with soap residue. I have to fill the rinse aid more than once a week.

Hey mcg7, most cleaning and drying challenges are related to water temperature. The “sweet” spot for water temperature is between 120-130 degrees for the best drying potential. To help get the hottest water to your dishwasher, let the water run in your sink until it’s hot (like you do before getting in the shower). This "primes the pump", it gets hotter water to your dishwasher faster. Your dishwasher uses about 3-4 gallons per cycle, limiting the opportunity the water has to warm up if it doesn’t start off hot enough. Worst dishwasher ever!!

I am in my 60's and this is the only dishwasher I have ever had problems with. It "looks" great, nice racks, but it stops there!! The dishes did not come clean and did not dry...at all! I read other reviews & learned that I need to run hot water in the sink before I start the dishwasher, never had to do this before, but I do now, it helps but I also don't put anything that is dirty in it anymore. Making sure the rinse agent is full helps the wetness somewhat but the dishwasher never fully dries. The worst problem is the smell!!! It smells disgusting!!! I contacted the appliance center where I bought the whole Gallery kitchen collection & they contacted Frigidaire but I have not heard from them to date. On a positive note, I really like the fridge, stove and microwave.

Oh no, Karo52! I hate to hear that you are having trouble with your dishwasher. Make sure the drain hose has not fallen down, as it should be installed at least 32" above the floor. Got rid of mine today after a year and a half, could not be happier that it is the dump where it belongs. Overpriced, never worked properly from day one, rarely cleaned dishes properly first time through. Good riddens!

Purchased a year ago. Waste of money, DON'T BUY IT. Does not dry dishes at all, no matter what brand of detergents, rinse aid or cycle you choose. Key pad to loc or cancel a cycle is awful. Very seldom does it work on the 1st try. Cycles are very long
for anything with heat that supposedly is to dry the dishes. Some up to 2hrs. How is that energy efficient and dishes and the machine are still wet. Has odor from the get go. I hate this diswasher so much I wash dishes buy hand unless a big diner has been had. In a year probably used 15 times.My whole family hates it. Put actual heating elements back in the dishwashers that people can afford. Upgrade the keypads so they work correctly. Save your money and buy something with an actually heating element. Don't fall for the sale pitch, like we did that the heat from the stainless steel inside will dry the dishes. It won't. Only plus for this machine is it looks good. True rating is BELOW POOR
