I bought this appliance 7 years ago and paid a pretty penny for it. I was nervous about not getting GE or Frigid Aire but since it was on sale it should last a while right? Wrong. It started leaking a year ago, and through a year of moldy freezer food and barely cool fridge and talking with everyone under the sun including Samsung Support I gave in and called a repair man. He opened where the fans were and they were under water. There was an internal system leak. IE the solder points inside the fridge where the water runs to the front came undone and flooded fridge on the inside. I could pay him to solder it should he find it and replace any water damaged parts... but that would cost the same amount as a GE or Frigid Aire. Long story short, buy another brand. The fridge is not worth $150 a year (amount paid divided by how long the fridge lasted).
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
