What's great about it: It's their second album, loved the first one!
This second album for the Eagles probably remains the least listened to but contains two great hits in "Desperado" and "Tequila Sunrise". "Desperado", sung by Don Henley with piano added by Glenn Frey became a favorite among fans, concert-goers, and radio, despite never being released as a single. Try the song, "Saturday Night", a great song featuring all of their incredible vocal talents with a sound not unlike Crosby, Stills & Nash, at the time. This four-man group, Frey, Henley, Randy Meisner and Bernie Leadon were all incredible talents alone but were a yet-to-be supergroup. This album bridged their country/bluegrass/folk-rock beginnings to their soon-to-be trademark country-rock sound that led to mega-stardom. Their next album, On the Border, would begin to shed the bluegrass/country leanings of Bernie Leadon to the more rock/pop sound they would make famous.
