Several Complaints

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this dishwasher somewhat over a month ago. I was disappointed even after the first run. Despite the fact that it is larger than average and that the tines can be turned down, it certainly has no more room for the dishes than my previous one. In fact, it is difficult to place the dishes between the tines, up or down. Most disturbing is that it does not completely dry either the dishes or even the walls of the cabinet. There is no indicator that the cycle is done. Only by watching, can one tell that the cycle is over because the unnecessary and disturbing flashing light goes off. It is a nightmare of design. I am certainly sorry that I bought it.

Design flaws abound.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We have had this DW close to a year and regret the purchase. The racks fall over in use. Too adjustable to remain in a vertical position when they have to support differing items in the same row. It happens frequently enough to keep the dishes from being completely cleaned. Rinse aid is mandatory. You will know by the resulting unclean items as soon as it runs out. The worst thing about this dishwasher is the obnoxious and hideous stench it emits during the second half of its cycle. It resembles the smell of a burning or overheated epoxy circuit board and is increasingly stronger with each use of the machine.The culprit is the control board in the door which is "potted" in a semisolid, gel like material that seems to be decomposing . It was replaced once under warranty and the fumes are reoccurring and making my newly renovated kitchen stink of chemical reek. It looks great and will wash a half load of dishes fine though. For a family of 4 that does not cut it.

good, but....

cleans dishes well. Not so crazy about the very top rack, if I was to buy another dishwasher I would skip that, it takes up valuable room you need for the top (middle) rack. Model is very quiet for a year, now squeals terribly in the wash mode, so I have to figure out what that is.

Good except for one detail

The lower rack wheels barely reach the lip on the inside of the washer. If the rack is not perfectly aligned when sliding into the washer, the rack falls down and has to be lifted back onto the lip that holds the rack. This is annoying, and is a design flaw as the fix would have been an easy design adjustment - Make the rack or wheels a little wider or make the lip a little wider. Other than this annoying design oversight, no complaints.

Cleans Great, But...

This dishwasher is extremely quiet and cleans dishes great. However, it has the worst odor and it also doesn't dry dishes well at all. We have tried all recommended solutions to get rid of the odor but nothing works. Not having a heated drying cycle is a big negative.

I have used my LG dishwasher almost two years and have yet to be satisfied. I will never purchase another LG dishwasher. The separating racks do not stay up but consistently fall into a flat position causing the dishes to fall on top of one another. The silverware basket falls apart into 3 pieces whenever it is pulled out (and sometimes just for fun). The soap dispenser does not open many times and I have to rerun the entire 2+ hour cycle. I AM DONE! NEVER AGAIN!
