We like our Samsung dishwasher because it is extremely quiet and efficient. The downside to this dishwasher is the top rack designed for utensils. For us it has very little functional use and takes up space we would have preferred be used in the rest of the dishwasher. Also the tines on the lowest rack are not tall enough to keep medium to heavy plates upright, they fall over into one another which is very annoying. I wish I had known these things and would have possibly researched a better option.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I've had my new dishwasher for a week now and am totally wowed by the cleaning, drying, silence, and loading ability of it. When I went to make my purchase, I didn't have this brand on my list, but the salesman heard me comparing machine A to machine B and discussing what options wouldn't be present on each machine. I'd concluded that a dishwasher that does everything I want doesn't exist. He told me I didn't have to compromise and showed me the Samsung.
He's right! I can have heated dry or condensation drying, so my crystal, china, and silver can go in the machine. Nothing needs to be rinsed; my pots and pans can go in the machine and come out CLEAN (even without zone booster or heavy cycle). I have that essential third shelf and can raise and lower tines on the bottom shelf to fit in everything. Tall/wine glasses fit easily and are well-supported. Plastic containers come out clean and not warped. Everything but wood or Grohl bottles goes in the machine, so no more hand washing. Even when the machine is scouring a bacon-dripping coated pan, I can barely hear it in the same room.
My only non-positive remark - the middle shelf requires a little jerk to get it to slide out, making the dishes/glasses clang together. Not a huge problem, but remarkable that the engineers didn't get this right even though they got so many other things right.
Would I buy it again or go with one of the others I was considering? I'd definitely get this dishwasher again.
Pros: silence, cleaning, loading versatility, washing versatility, drying options
Cons: middle shelf requires tug to pull out

Great Product with Excellent Features

This dishwasher turns out even the worst of dishes. It is super efficient and super quiet. Hardly know it is operating, except for the indicating light!
Pros: hi-tech, extremely quiet operation

Looks beautiful. I am on my 3rd dishwasher as the two precious were defective. Have only had this one a week and I find it washes dishes great if you wash them before you load them. I have put my knives that I have been washing for years in the utensil rack and now my knives have rust on them every time I wash them. Have to get the SOS pad out and clean the knives.
If it doesn't start doing better soon, I will be getting this one replaced.
Pros: sleek design
Cons: Poor quality
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

You didn't mention in your review whether you'd contacted Samsung for assistance previously, or if you'd already tried the troubleshooting tips offered in the User Manual and online, such as checking the water supply temperature and pressure, using a rinse aid or selecting the Sanitize or Zone Booster options if appropriate. It's also worth noting that the type of detergent could play a part, and the spots on your knives could actually be deposits rather than rust. First totally new design

The waterfall feature puts this dishwasher in a totally different category. It is very quiet and does a superior cleaning job. It is also has a clean look.

Quiet Dishwasher

My family and I love our new dishwasher. It is so quiet you can't tell it's on. There is no problem having a conversation or watching television in the kitchen with it. It also gets our dishes so clean, no residue of food left behind. Love it!

Quiet at a cost

We were won over by the reviews that promised a quiet dishwasher. Yes, it is quiet, but that seems to be because it doesn't do anything. In a typical cycle 20-30% of the dishes have to be hand washed after I take them out the machine. Particularly dishes in the lower rack which never seem to get clean.
We've tried different detergents, etc and they all produce the same results. The cheap dishwasher that this replaced cleaned 10x better than this dishwasher. We are contemplating pulling it out and throwing it away (even though it functions) because the performance is horrible.
Pros: quiet
Cons: over-designed, doesn't clean dishes
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Did not meet expectations

I am very disappointed in this product. I'm such a huge advocate for Samsung however I am completely dissatisfied with this dishwasher. It doesn't clean the dishes well, it doesn't dry them at all and the cycle times are very long.
I am such a HUGE Samsung supporter to the point my friends and family are constantly asking if I'm a spokesperson for the company. Everything in my house, my phone, stove, microwave, refrigerator, televisions are all Samusng. This product was a let down.
Cons: Did not meet expectations
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
