this is a very proficient printer, it has very simple setup but produces a very high quality product colors are bold and bright and it makes simple every day printing look like professional use... I was testing the printer out and left the wrong type of paper loaded (I do photography) the practice page I printed out on photo paper came out looking something like a magazine all the colors are bold and very vivid....definitely recommend

The WorkForce ET-4550 is reliable. No futzing with ink cartridges or cleaning ink nozzles. It works well so far and I expect it will stay that way.
It's a joy to use Google Cloud Print without needing a computer intermediary.
OK, I must say that the first shipment arrived with cat litter in the box. I started cleaning that off the outside and the scanner glass, then stopped to call the Epson store when I found more of it in the paper path. Epson came through for me with an immediate replacement. Thank you!
+1 for Epson. -1 for FedEx.

definately not "small Business"

Disappointed with the speed - scanning is too slow for real business use. We have had this for a month now - It prints but slow. I am shocked that Epson would market as a small business use device - especially for the price. We have 3-4 people in the office max and we must use other printers - this is only suitable for one person. As a scanner - better get yourself a coffee first.

About time
on October 12, 2015

It's about time someone addressed the inkjet cartridge ripoff and Epson has done a great job. Haven't had this printer long, but so far it has performed superbly. If the ink lasts as advertised, this printer will completely pay for itself in a relatively short time. Only drawback so far is no setting for a 6 3/4 envelope (the most common along with #10, which is there). I can tweak the 4x6 setting, but hope to see the 6 3/4 added in a future software upgrade.

New printer ink concept
on October 24, 2015

I've purchased the ET-4550 as well as its smaller sibling mainly because of the lack of ink cartridges needed. Love that part. Please keep the refills cheap and the printers more expensive but worth while. So far, the set up with USB and windows 10 was a breeze, trying to do it wireless was a failure.

Excellent New Printer Model

This printer came equipped in the box with 4 initial bottles of ink and 4 extra bottles of ink. It was very easy to set up following the clearly spelled out set up directions. Downloading and installing the printer drivers was a breeze on my Mac computer. Because the printer works wirelessly on my home network it wasn't even necessary to install anything on my Windows laptop, it just showed up there as a printer on the network and printed from the laptop as well as from my Mac. The printed pages look almost like they were printed on a laser printer they are so sharp and clear.

a few issues

we like the printers production and ink usage but... the printer network problems have been hard to figure out and the top feeder has given us issues in that it will not grab the paper consistently. I've had lots of printers over the past 25 years and this one seems to be the least dependable so far.

ET-4550, a pretty good all in one machine.

It's a pretty good all in one machine. The primary advantage is lower long run ink costs. It's somewhat complex to set up and operate, does take some getting used to. I can recommend it. Does lack memory card interface, should have that for the higher price. All in all, a good buy.
