Blue spots on the screen out of the box. Handling action/motion of DVD up-scaling was poor.

The first major issue we had with this TV was that we had these "blue-spots" on the screen any time there was darker background. There were three or four 1/2 " diameter blue spots, plus a blue streak across the bottom. It was very obvious and very distracting to sit there and see these "blue eyes" looking back at us all the time during a movie. After reading complaints on the web about this, I believe this is some kind of stuck pixel issue. So this alone caused me to have to go through the process of doing a complaint and return. There is no replacement policy... you return it and they refund your $. Kind of a pain, but at least they honor the warranty. But there are other issues that I found that made me decide not to repurchase another 4K UHDTV.
I had high hopes for a new 4K UHDTV as all the demos I saw in stores were running hi def, slow-motion feeds which looked totally amazing. However, we rented a couple movies, one DVD and one blue-ray to see how it performed. For the DVD, I assume the TV was trying to upscale the resolution as much as it could, but it was not doing a good job. Any motion, slow or fast caused blurry edges, or pix-elation, or frame jumping that was very distracting. I have never see that on my old DLP or LED 1080 TV.
The blue ray was very very very clear. This is where personal opinion/preference comes in. The picture was so detailed in the movie that it its almost distracting. Being able to see every piece of dust or pimple on someone's face, or so much detail of the back-ground made it not look like a movie production, but smaller/cheaper production. I have heard others call this looking like a soap opera production, and if you have ever seen a soap opera, the way the camera work / lighting is it does seem similar to that. Hard to explain. Maybe just my 50 year old eyes.
I do like the smart-TV functions. It was very easy to set up, connect to wifi, and was able to surf the web and get to online content. We did bring up some 4K media on youtube, some nature related media. THAT was really amazing to see. That is where the 4K really is amazing in closeup shots of animals, insects in vivid colors. Really sharp. but for whatever reason, I guess I do not need 4K when watching an action movie. So I think I am just going to get a 1080P LED Smart TV and see how that goes.
Couple last things... the remote was pretty nice and intuitive. The stand seemed flimsy. I would prefer it to be sturdier. The sound was not that great. I guess you can get sound bars, but that would be even more. When I was playing a movie, I prefer to run the sound thru my surround sound, but I had to make sure the TV volume was turned down or it would crackle the TV speakers. My old TV never did that, as a matter of fact, it became the front-center speaker of the system. Not sure why the Samsung did not work that way.
Cons: Did not meet expectations, damaged out of box
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

The unit has a sound problem and there seems to be a problem connecting to Directv 4K mini Genie. Hope new unit will not have the same problems.
The images are crystal clear. The colors are vibrant, easy to adjust for different types of shows. Also easy to switch back and forth for different inputs and smart features.
Pros: Inexpensive, Realistic color, Bright display, Durable, Lightweight, crystal clear, easy to use
Cons: had to buy signal booster to connect to wifi, sound a little flat. good with surround sound
