It's All About The Apps!

Understand that I do not use cable for anything but Internet access. I expect for what I paid for this TV to be able to get ALL of the Apps and use them no differently than I can from my Roku on a TV that is at least 30 years older than this new one. HBO NOW is an absolute MUST as well as News Apps that do not originate with the Main Stream Media. This new TV was to be able to connect me to Streaming far better than Roku but instead I am finding that for my use Roku has far better access to what I actually want to watch. As for the operational performance it's got a great picture but so do most high end monitors I can stream my media across. I am very disappointed in Samsung's lack of Apps with this purchase! With the thousands of Apps available online Samsung should have loaded this tv with hundreds of options for Streaming content.
Pros: Realistic color, Bright display, Lightweight
Cons: Did not meet expectations, very limited apps, very limited streaming options

Has no flaws work's awesome,outstanding performance and color am getting the8500 48 in for the bedroom

The TV picture is awesome but the reason for rating so low is because the sound. I have a surround sound theater system that is not working with my TV. My surround sound system was about 20 years old with old wires that didn't connect, so I bought a converter to hook up optical sound. It still didn't work. I traded my old surround sound system for a brand new one but after hooking it up to the TV it didn't work either. I come to believe that it must be the TV.
Pros: Realistic color, Bright display, best picture quality
Cons: sound

TV was excellent in most ways. However, after only a year and a half, the product stopped working and a particular part was no longer available - therefore the "Good" rating.

Fortunately product insurance replaced the TV and I am looking forward to an "Excellent" rating for the new TV

Smart TV Reinvented

I thought I knew the capabilities of a smart TV before I started using this one. It redefines the possibilities of what a smart TV can do. It is like it has a computer embedded inside it. I have used laptops and desktops connected to my home theater for several years. With this new Samsung I don't even need to have a separate computer hooked to it. Plus it has it's own wireless network adapter built in. It will connect to your wireless router.
I have a wireless keyboard and mouse hooked to it to control the features. They are the same ones I previously used with the separate computer.
Other than the computer features, the images are completely stunning. You can pull up 4k videos from Youtube that will take your breath. There is one of a guy surfing inside the curl of a wave that is beyond beautiful.
Using Samsung smartview, I can take photos from my phone (which has a 21 mp camera) and send them up to the TV screen for viewing. You control this from the app on the phone to select which photo you would like displayed on the screen. Wonderful way to share photos with friends and family. It also works with videos from the camera.
If you want incredible 4k video and beautiful images controlled by it's own internal computer, then give one of the new Samsung's a try. I can't imagine how you could be disappointed.
