Easy plug and play setup. Great sound for its size. Considering purchasing a few more for the rest of the rooms. Only wish there was an outdoor version.

This speaker was a little bit tricky to set up but it sounds great. Then I read that these speakers can be paired together. So I went back to get another one and connected them together. One on the left and one on the right night table and it is truly amazing surrounding sounds. I have a Samsung TV and it works seamlessly with the TV. I had originally bought the sound bar but returned it and bought 2 of these speakers for less money and better sound. I made the right decision because it is absolutely amazing.
Pros: Inexpensive, Durable, Lightweight

I wish Samsung could provide connectivity solution between TV and this speaker (no Samsung TV); may be through chromcast.

Better Than Expected

My wife wanted a bt speaker at first so she could use in the room while while studying. Decided to look at this instead because we have a Samsung tv in our room and thought it would be a great alternative being she would only use it in the room anyways. Setting up was pretty simple and straight forward using the app. It's great being able to listen from all our devices, including our tv, and being able to control them from any of our devices.
There are a couple of things that are a little bit annoying, however. First, the app does tend to disconnect from the speaker here and there making it a task to reconnect. Second, out of the box, the speaker did not sound all that great. After adjusting the EQ settings, the speaker sounds pretty great considering the size of it. Out of the Box, the low and mid frequencies are a bit on the heavy side - making the sound seem a bit muddled. Pulling those frequencies down helped a lot.
Pros: functionality between devices

With new stand-alone, digital and somewhat intelligent speakers entering the market, this stand alone speaker could use some advanced features. It should have battery power option and aux input. It did not work well with Windows 10 based PC and needs upgrades to its App. It has a wonderful sound for such a small light item, but someday should have input capacity that responds to verbal input and control...thus including microphones and other sensors. The sound quality should not be sacrificed by adding such features, because I believe that's the key feature for maintaining its popularity and sales.
Pros: Inexpensive, Built-in speakers, Lightweight
Cons: Did not meet expectations, app did not work with pc

It's a nice product, and I would recommend to a friend. The only issue is that I thought the item was cordless unless you needed to charge it. It hooks up easily to bluetooth with no hassles.
Pros: Inexpensive
Cons: needs to be plugged into power source tito work

Small speaker, room filling sound

The R1 is a great speaker for its size and fills the dynamic sound. I am using 2 R1's in combination with a soundbar and sub and it adds great surround sound. The only down side is limited connectivity with my computer. Also, discovered when grouped mine only worked on my 2.GHz Wi-Fi not the 5 Ghz band. Otherwise this is a awesome speaker.
Pros: Lightweight, great sound, excellent design
Cons: need computer connectivity
