Used daily multiple times and is a hard worker with great quality. Paper quality will affect it though. Ink - can be messy.

Print Quality Is Good, WiFi Horrible

This printer works well, when it opts to work properly. I'd estimate at least 75% of the time I get a printer error usually associated with either a bad connection, no connection, or some other reason that it won't print. it doesn't seem to matter whether its a wifi connection or USB. Easily the least reliable printer I've ever owned.
I've tried every conceivable fix, every online suggestion, I've installed and re-installed drivers ... nothing will make this horrible printer work with any reliability at all. This will be the dead last Canon printer, or Canon anything for that matter, that I will ever own.
As I write this, the IP8720 is apparently no longer made. If you're thinking of buying a used one, good luck ...

Best desktop printer

I purchased this printer as I needed one to print on white cd or dvd media. Does great photos and good addition to my desk. The only negative is the size and cost of the ink.

Print Head Will Not Move

I bought this approx. 2 years ago and have hardly used it in that time. I have printed maybe 10 pictures and 80 documents. Now the print head is stuck over to the right and will not budge. Telephone tech support tried to help but were unable. Now I have to pay to get it fixed (if it's worth it) and it's barely broken in. My last pixma ip4000 lasted 10 years. I am not happy.

Crapped out

After only a few months, printer won't connect either wirelessly or with USB. Now I'm stuck with a boatload of ink that seems to only work with this printer.

THIS IS MY THIRD IP8720 IN THREE YEARS. I USE IT HEAVILY FOR CAD 13 X 19 DRAWINGS. IT IS THE FASTEST QUALITY PRINTER THAT I HAVE USED. I DO NOT USE IT FOR PHOTOS. I HAVE A CANON IP7200 THAT I USE FOR PHOTOS.
