Trivial Set-up

Bought it today, downloaded the app to my iPad at the recommendation of the salesman, turned the system on, connected to home wi-fi network via iPad, once on the network it updated to latest SW, connected to my iPod and was listening to my own music, the set-up my favorite stations with the explore function. Set-up was trivial and was compete red within 10 minutes out of the box. Music quality is very good, even though it may fall short of the sound fullness you will get from having speakers separated a given distance. Form factor is very unintrucive and it has clean lines, so aesthetically blends in easily. Really happy with ease of set-up. Enjoying it sound already!!

Sound is bad and Bluetooth is aggravating

After reading the reviews about this item I thought it would make a nice gift, it didn't. Sound on the sound touch 30 III is very poor and has almost no bass and a lot of treble. The blend from what I've read is supposed to be full and crisp. Well crisp it is with no accents of the bass. Now for the blue tooth. The connectivity is aggravating as you have to hold the button on the unit each time you turn it on. It will not connect automatically and if you use the remote it appears to e turning the unit off instead of connecting. Do not purchase this it is way way over priced.

Worst investment

Althought the great quality sound that the product has there is a lack of functinality that a premium speaker should have. I said "3 easy steps" to configure ... that is true (for wireless), the issue is that you have to set the speaker up on the network every time you want to change the volume. it did not happen with air play but its not supported any more :(

Base keeps dropping

At first it work well and the sound quality is great. But after a while the base stops working ... But when i restart the base startes to work.. However it happened few ties and then no base at all.. then theres a lag in playing songs.. like a pulse... So i sent to repair as it's under warrenty.. worked well for 1 day but the same isuue.... So dont recommed it at all...

That's great to hear that you thought the sound quality is great, it's a shame that you experienced a loss of bass and lag. SoundTouch speakers are reliant on strong internet connections, I would recommend that you reboot your router then make sure that there are not many other products that could be interfering.

No way to disable ‘auto-off’ with AUX input

I wanted to use this with an echo dot (echo dot has aux out, this unit has aux in). When I first connected it using a 3.5mm audio cable I thought it was perfect. I came back later and found the Bose had turned itself off. I looked through forums online and found this is a “feature” that cannot be turned off. So now if I want to use it with the Echo I first need to manually turn on the Bose...
Don’t buy this product if you want to use it with an echo!

Thank you for providing a review of the SoundTouch 30 wireless system. We're sorry you're having trouble. If you're using an Echo Dot, be sure the system firmware is up to date. With software 13.x and older, the speaker will go into standby after 20 minutes of inactivity. This will cause your Dot to disconnect. My wife and I bought this soundtouch a week ago everything was great so far but when we tried to use the aux plug in it didn't work. We changed it but it's still the same.

1. Let's reset the speaker. You can perform a product reset by pushing and hold the AUX button for 15 seconds, or until the empty progress bar appears.
2. Let's try a different audio source.
3. If you have one available, let's try another audio cable.
