HORRIBLE!!!

so much issues with connecting it is not even funny!!!!! I have 4 throughout the house and just about each time there is extra half an hour of my time trying to get them to play music!!!!!! DO NOT BUY!!!!!!!!!!!

Love my Soundtouch 10s

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've owned a Bose sound touch 10 for 2 years. 6 months ago I bought a 2nd one to run as a pair. After updating both to make sure they had the same firmware, both connected and were easy to create a group.
Some people have complained about sound quality but I have had 0 issues, mine sound great. There are a couple of things to consider when using/placing these speakers:
1) these speakers are not designed to crank music in big rooms. Average living room, kitchen, bedroom, they should perform well
2) these speakers have a rear sound port. If you want rich/deep lows you cannot place them on an end table in the middle of a room. For best results corner load them, at a minimum have them 2-4 inches from a wall. Also experiment with their placement as with ANY speaker the sweet spot will be relative to where they are placed. If you place as I have directed, then move around the room, you will see that the sound will change as you move and there will be a spot where the sound is the richest. This is due to the sound wave lengths and where you ear is relative to the crest or trough of the base sound wave. You may have to experiment and move the speaker around your room so the sound is better at your desired listening spot.
The sound touch app is simple and clean. Almost too basic but I love being able to access/play my spotify and satellite radio accounts through the speakers. The bluetooth capability is good, and I love the 6 presets so I can save my favorite online radio stations.
I love my speakers so much I bought 2 more to add to my network.

Great bit of kit but cannot work out how multiroom

Bought a few of th Bose sound touch10 for the house vs the Sonos for a number of reasons. Sound is great and if honest 1 fills the house alone! What I cannot work out though is how to play different music in each room via the app and Spotify. Seems to want to only play same track on all speakers or just one. Some help appreciated.

Great Speaker but Wired

I wasn't sure about these speakers until I tried one out in my bathroom. The sound was much better than I thought it would be, and now have I these speakers sprinkled throughout my home. The only drawback is the power cord. It gets in the way of where I want to place it, and limits most other areas where I would want to place it. If you look very carefully at the pictures on the Bose website, you would think the speaker is cordless, but it is not and for a minimalist like me, you have to really think where you want to place the speaker and work extra hard to install it such that all you see is the speaker and not the cord - just like in the bose pictures.

An opportunity for development

Having the need of music in our living room and the invisibility of the system was a must. We have enjoyed the sound, its great, almost incredible but thats what you get from a bose system.
Now, its connected to a apple express, the only way to play music from my computer and share it with other devices (I have 2 other apple tv connected with speakers) the unit gives a delay so it kills the whole reason of purchase and the fact that can't have airplay its a burden.
Yeah, yeah... bluetooth.... well not if I want to play in a multi-room environment with my current system.
SO, my wish list:
1- Dear R&D Bose, you have the technology for airplay, it can't be that hard and you won't cannibalise your sales systems, actually you will only sell more.
2- Why the delay?? how can I / you fix it?

One thing to mention is that with the new Series III SoundTouch systems, once you are connected by Bluetooth to one of them, you are able to rebroadcast that audio to all of your other SoundTouch products (whether they support Bluetooth or not) for playback in a multi-room environment via Bluetooth.

Great hardware, poor app

Without doubt, the sound quality of the SoundTouch 10 is fantastic for such a compact speaker. I can't fault the hardware nor the speaker sound quality and I don't mind that it is a little heavier than I expected.
However, the user experience is seriously let down by the SoundTouch app which is clunky and feature poor. My primary use of the SoundTouch is for internet radio stations which are usually a great source for "music discovery" or serendipity but this is completely defeated by the app which doesn't display the IDv3 meta data. That's a fundamental omission by the developers and inexcusable.
I have given a 4-Star rating solely based on the quality of the hardware and the sound quality. I'm afraid the app deserves only 2-Stars.
On the hardware side, can I suggest a push-button sequence to put the speaker immediately in to 'WPS Push Button pairing mode' instead of always having to use "setup mode" and the app?

THERES. NO. AIR. PLAY

I mean. The speaker is great.
It works just fin over the WiFi and the connection with Spotify (streaming service I use) is great. But really? No AirPlay?
It's like having a Tesla and a AAA battery to recharge it.

Impressive

The sound from this speaker is impressive as you can expect from Bose, big bass from a such small speaker. But it totally could be better with a tweeter. Sometimes I think it misses some high frequencies, which can be barely adjusted by reducing the bass at the Bose App.
I think it could be better if Bose includes some equalizer or a treble control.
But the speaker is truly amazing. It connects with everything (Bluetooth, Aux, Wifi) and once you configure it from the app (with the Bass Reducer) it sticks with the configuration, which means its not necessary passing everything through the app to get de bass reduction. Congratulations, Bose!
