Nice stove but knobs are horrible.

The knobs on this range model is horrible, cleaned them when soap and water and the silver finish keep coming out, bubbles up and chips and peels away, very disappointed with this fail, these knobs need to be replaced asap with more heavy-duty versions that don't chip, peel or rub away, dont even submerge them in water cause the finish will just bubble up and peel off, I've been having this problem since I started cleaning the knobs after a week of getting this stove, other people that I know who has the same stove are going through the same ordeal and that silver finish gets on everything, even the food if a person is not careful, hey GE what gives, will they be replaced with better ones, will you volunteer to replace this problem?

We have had this a couple of months, the timer is so soft you will miss it if you are not next to it in the room, and 2 of the burners have higher flames on one side, thus giving you hot spots on the pan and burning the food

Trying to provide feedback, inserted photo of defect in cheap membrane-type control panel, and got kicked off website-twice! Not impressed at all.

Backguard paint issue

Using right side back burner caused a severe vapor stain on the backguard black paint. This should not happen from normal cooking as you would think the paint is treated to be protected from this. I cannot recommend a stove where you cannot use back burner without being afraid of staining the paint.

Worst stove of my life

I had to replace a 25 yr old bottom of the line Gibson. I chose this GE. I am so sorry I did. The burner controls do NOT offer a significant range of settings. From Hi -5 is all the same output - doesn't matter which burner you choose - and then there is 4 and somewhat lower. The spread of the flame is too wide for a smaller skillet - you will burn your knuckles and have to put the skillet uncentered over the burner to get the heat to the center of the skillet. I figure any stove that cannot accommodate a cast iron skillet that has been simple to cook with for over 100 years is just poorly designed. "Use a flat bottom wok" say the instructions. Oh really? Since when have woks been required to be flat bottomed? Seriously??? And the low simmer burner... well it is the right diameter for a skillet but it doesn't get hot enough to use that burner instead of the next size up. All in all, I think the design on this stove is dreadful and I rue the day I bought it.

Door not flush

Cooktop works fine so far. Burners are varied and good. Noticed (AFTER installation of course - because I couldn't unwrap the whole thing first to inspect) that the left side of the oven door is not aligned like the right side is...so now I wonder if the oven door will seal properly and keep heat in...ugh

Not built like they use to

Replaced my gas range with what I thought was comparable to my old GE range which was built like a tank. Outside casing on this new range is thin and dents and scratches very easily. First range delivered was dented and left side looks like it was crushed; Second range delivered also came with a small dent and imprint missing near burner dial on front where it's obviously noticed. I watched the installation guys unpack the range from the truck. Sent from factory in this condition which leads me to believe not inspected before shipping out to the local retailer. Take note and build them like you did 20 years ago; stronger.

I bought this range from a local small town dealer. The customer service sold the product. I needed the natural gas feature converted to propane. I was hoping for delivery within the week because my existing stove was on it's last leg. This vendor not only did the conversion for free they also delivered and installed the product within an hour of the purchase. Impressive! The GE products came highly recommended by the sales person as well as the installer. I really liked how solid the cooking grates sat on the range top. There was little to no shifting of the grates. I also liked the user friendly control panel. I will be using this stove daily and it is going to be a joy to use.
I would recommend this to a friend!
