First one didn't even have a light for the oven?!

The GE products I had in my previous home lasted over 16 years. However, all GE appliances in my new Lennar home are poor quality: the oven doesn't come with a light (?!), the washing machine makes a loud grinding noise when agitating and I've been told by service people that is the normal sound, the dishwasher only dissolves the soap and dry the dishes if I move it to a place that takes up dirty dishes space, and the refrigerator gas a giant light in the middle of the top shelf taking away a lot if the space and the freezer space is a joke! I can't brûlée GE would sell such inferior products!
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Needs a new temp sensor after three months??

GE has put a lot of thought into this product. My unit (JGB700DEJBB) has all the amenities of high-end ranges at a fraction of the cost. Unfortunately, the quality gets lost somewhere between the manufacturing facilities in Mexico, and the component suppliers. There is no logical reason that a new gas range would start to have component failures after only three months. This is my experience. Your mileage my vary. Fortunately, the range is still under warranty. And, I have every expectation that the problem will be remedied by the technician that will respond to my service request. Sadly, my confidence in GE appliances is still wounded by the three month component failure. Even if I didn't have experience in electronics and engineering, I would still caution the reader : "buyer beware".
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

We bought this oven because in our price range it had everything we wanted. We love the griddle top on the fifth burner. The surfaces are easy to clean and it looks lovely in our kitchen. The only complaint that we have so far - is that as far as we can tell, there is no way to turn on the oven light without opening the door.
I would recommend this to a friend!
