MY NEW GE GAS RANGE

I LIKE THE CAST IRON GRATES VERY MUCH. I THOUGHT THERE WAS A CENTER GRATES RATHER THAN A GRIDDLE WHICH WAS A DISPPOINTMENT AS WELL AS THERE NOT BEING A SWITCH FOR A OVEN LIGHT. OVERALL THIS RANGE WORKS WELL FOR COOKING AND BAKING.

Instruction manual

Installed today & unpleasantly surprised this is shipped without an instruction manual. Instead the purchaser is required to download & print the manual - why? Also purchased a new GE microwave (installed today) -- a much cheaper item but came with a instruction manual.

I shopped around a lot before buying this. For the price I think this is a good choice. The oven temp is very reliable, and always correct when I check it with a thermometer. The burners are sturdy. The biggest burner heats large pots very quickly, and the smallest is good for simmering. The center griddle looks great. I think it's a bit uneven in heating- the back is hotter than the front. I was concerned it might scratch easily, but I e had no issues. One very disappointing feature is the oven light. It can't be turned on without opening the oven door. The button is available on other models, but was replaced with a convection button on this one. I would have bought another range if I'd realized that in time. I find it important o be able to check on things during baking without opening the door and losing heat. Despite that, I like this range overall. The stainless is smudge resistant and easy to clean.

I love the color. The different BTU burners.The convection oven. The only thing missing is a oven light when the door is closed???

Just purchased this unit with other appliances so I don't have a performance evaluation. I was very disappointed in the quality of the storage tray at the bottom. The metal is a very light guage and is flimsy and the track and guides are cheaply made. The rest of the appliance seems to be of better quality.
I would recommend this to a friend!
