Looks great... doesn't work great

Well, as with the other appliances we got in this package, it looks very nice. We love the black stainless. But these appliances replaced 12 year old Whirlpool appliances that all worked better. This oven is supposed to be a convection oven, but as others have noted in their reviews, the fan only runs for a few seconds, not continuously, and therefore cooks no better or faster. SO DO NOT SPEND THE EXTRA MONEY ON THIS. I included photos of bacon I cooked in the oven using the convection feature... absolutely no different than cooking in a regular oven... the bottom pan much more done than the top pan. Also, the oven door does not close all the way. No heat escapes from around the edges, so the seal is working well, but visually the photo I included is me closing the door as tight as I possibly could, and this is how far it still sticks out. If you want GE black slate, purchase the regular version, don't spend the extra on convection. If you want a convection oven, better get a different brand. Very disappointed with this product.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Our new GE gas oven is fantastic. We love the heavy duty burner grates and the center burner. The convection feature is a really plus not only for energy saving but speeding up cook time

love the center grill makes great steaks the burners are nice and large pans are not bunched up when you cook the oven is roomy and bakes amazing great range very pleased

This GE range has an accurate oven and the convection works great! The design of the stovetop results in even and precise cooking and I appreciate that the cooktop grates are weighted well for a more pro feel and the flattop / griddle is awesome! We are very happy with this purchase.
