Product Designers Probably Weren't Chefs

Nice looking unit, but lacking some practical features that a regular cook would like to have:
*Oven vents through an aperture to the right rear burner so if you are baking something, all the liquid pools up on the right rear burner, making a mess and interfering with using that burner at the same time.
*If you don't wait around for something to boil, it will most likely bubble water and whatever else is in the pot all over the stovetop....making a big mess. Older units had drip pans and overflowed into reservoir below which would be sponged out.
*Timing alarm is barely audible from another room and can't be adequately adjusted.
*Oven takes a lot longer to bake or broil than previous unit.....had to adjust temperature up 25 degrees. We'll see how that works. At least it's adjustable.
*Glass top requires constant and continuous maintenance or it will quickly become an unsightly mess of dried food and liquids. Fortunately, some simple tools do the job nicely to get it looking nice again.
*Replaced old unit because timing clock broke down and parts unavailable. This unit has the features, but not simple and intuitive to use.....requiring complex overlays and several commands to start and stop the oven at certain times and set the oven temperature and let me know when it's done for example. Have to review the manual each time I do it.
*A problem down the road could be the expensive replacement of the control panel which is often the Achilles heel of modern digital appliances. I understand that these control panels are not available after 5-10 years, so yes, expect built in obsolescence and possible early replacement.
Nice Features:
*Ability to switch between large and small burners.
*Easy to read knobs and control panel.
*No problems (so far) with corrosion of copper connectors for burner units.
*Rear center unit dedicated to warming leftovers only.

Like the color not the quality

I like the color (slate) very much. I find the settings for the burners are difficult to see. They need to be in a darker or much lighter color. The timer sound is way too soft. If I am not in the same room it is difficult to hear and my hearing is very good. Lastly the glass top is too dark. the range I had before had a lighter color glass top and always was easy to clean. This one always needs cleaned or wiped off daily.

New House, New Appliances!

We recently bought this stove to put in our new house and we love it! It heats up super fast, I espeically love the three racks of space instead of the usual two and they all heat the same since it's a convectional oven! Everything we've made in it so far has tasted great and has cooked fast! Overall a great stove

Good Range for the money

Bought this range when our old one went on the fritz. It is easy to use, looks nice and does a decent job at cooking. The stove heats up fairly quickly and I have really come to like to convection oven.

LOVE the Convection

I have only had the range for about 2 weeks but so far I love it. I have only ever used a convection oven at my mom's so having this feature in my own home has been great! The flat top cooking surface cleans up like a breeze as long as you follow GE's recommendations. So far definitely love my purchase!
