Pleased with the 3rd shelf and the opportunity to use convection or not..
Easy to clean cooktop and to program. Wish I could change oven temperatures without shutting down and starting up again.

We bought a GE bundle, fridge stove, dishwasher, and microvase.I love this stove, the burners heat up very quickly and I like that.

Convection fan

The convection fan was vibrating from the first time I used it. Appliance repair came and looked at it and found fan bent and motor installed wrong. Ordered new fan and motor. Came to install new motor and fan and the new fan was bent worse the old one. They ordered another new fan. Still waiting for it.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Love the convection oven, browns food beautifully, cooks evenly
Black slate is beautiful doesn't show smudges
Only problem is the cooktop is very delicate, scratches easily

I had owned an earlier (2001) GE convection/electric oven model and this new one heats much more quickly -both the range top and the oven. I love the addition of the warming burner and the "boiling" burner, as well as the multiple configurations for different size pots. I also love the steam clean option for the oven. I also noticed the better visibility of the huge oven interior - not sure if it's better lighting or better glass. The only thing I miss from the old range is that it indicated specifically which burner was still warm after being turned off. The new range just has a light which indicates that some burner is still hot after being turned off. However, that one complaint doesn't prevent me from endorsing this range completely. And after being a skeptic initially, I would totally recommend the slate color....no fingerprints and blends great with my cranberry/blue/tan/color scheme and caramel-colored cabinets.....don't think you are limited to gray color schemes with the slate appliances....there's a taupe-ish tint to it.
