Love Double Ovens...Glass Top Hard to Clean

I want to preface the review by saying that I owned a Maytag Gemini for about 15 years. I wanted a double oven/range that would fit into the typical range spot in my kitchen so I wouldn’t have to remodel to get two ovens. I love this product concept. I also love that the smaller top oven takes next to no time to preheat.
I did extensive research on customer reviews of double oven ranges in all price categories. I selected this range based on my research and have been extremely happy with its performance over the past month that I have owned it. The ovens cook far more evenly and without burning the bottoms of cookies and rolls than the Maytag Gemini ever did! The burners on the stovetop heat very quickly and I have had to adjust my cooking temps down accordingly. Also the top oven is larger than the Gemini, and can fit two sheet pans or casserole dishes side-by-side!
My only word of caution is the glass top is hard to clean. I had a glass top on my previous range for 15 years, and I thought THAT was hard to clean… this one is harder. I had read reviews but said the same thing, and they are not kidding. I am not a messy cook, but there are tiny dots that cover the glass top and for whatever reason it is impossible to get even the smallest smears to fully go away. I included a picture. I have scrubbed and scrubbed with the glass top cleaner that came with the range and it really does not 100% work. My last resort in writing this review was to try the Mr. Clean Magic eraser – – that seem to work really really well. So just beware that you are not crazy if you have trouble cleaning the glass.
I have been very happy overall—it is a VAST improvement over my Gemini!!!

Only negative is that the cooktop is difficult to keep smudge free. Have to go over it several times. Had a 20 year old one with same top and it was easy to keep smudge free.

Like the unit, though the ceramic cooktop is already pitted at one burner after only 3 months. Applying to have the cooktop replaced under warranty.

We love our new GE range. The stovetop works perfectly, uniformly heats my dishes and pretty fast cooking too. Love the way the knobs are clearly marked, which makes it easier for the kids to learn to operate the stove as well. We also liked the double oven feature, can cook different dishes at one time at different temperatures. Overall it’s an elegant range with great features at a reasonable price.
