Love the 2 ovens

My previous oven was just not as efficient, and the burners took forever to heat up. This is so much faster. The top over, which is the smaller one to the place of my counter top toaster over...OMG....what a difference, and now I have much more counter top. I love this oven and would highly recommend to anyone looking for one than has the 2 ovens

Bought this double oven along with a Fridge, dishwasher, and microwave a few months ago. Not only love the look of them all but the double oven is awesome! Have been buying GE appliances since 1972 and have been trouble free!

FANTASTIC double oven

We had a double oven range (approx 10 years old) and replaced it with this newer model and we are so excited about our new GE. The upper oven is larger and more useful, it cooks so evenly and when using both ovens we were able to cook three pizzas that all came out pipping hot at the same time. What a great feature for a large family. Having used the stove for just under a month we rate it great so far, hoping it continues for 10+ years like our last one.

Like the utility - Stove Top scratches too easily

Love the oven configuration and the stove top works fine, my issue is with how easily the stove top gets scratched - GE needs to figure out how to make the glass more scratch resistant.

I quit cooking and baking years ago because I was so dissapointed with the results from my old electric coil-top range (not a GE product). The food seemed dry and overdone or mushy and underdone. I had a hard time getting a nice saute on the stove top and crispness from the oven. I picked this model because it had a solid build, enough modern features without being over-techy, and a good price.
My GE Range JB860SJ6SS was installed the 1st of Aug. 2018. So far the cooking and baking have been excellent. The smaller regular oven bakes evenly and quickly without drying out the food. I love roasting vegetables in the smaller oven. The convection oven bakes and roasts items more quickly. It browns meats and baked goods just fine. I want to experiment more with this aspect.
I made the mistake of overfilling cake pans which left a sticky, crusty mess on the bottom of the oven. My oven has the heating element exposed so this was a great test to see how easily this nasty spill would clean up. I will not use the self-clean cycle for fear of damaging the circuit board and I cleaned the mess by hand. I put water on the baked on residue in the warm oven and let it soak for about 1/2 hour. Due to the super slick coating of the oven’s interior I was able to easily wipe up the spills without scraping! I used warm water with dishwashing soap to thoroughly clean all of the oven’s interior surfaces. I gently lifted the exposed heating element out of the way to cleanly wipe the bottom. EasyPeasy! My oven looked new again.
I thoroughly clean and buff the glass cooktop BEFORE and after cooking to ensure the silica in the creamic top cleaning paste keeps the surface coated. This ensures no etching and quick clean up. The trick is to use just a little paste to prevent flaking. Any flakes left over from buffing are the most annoying part of cleaning the glass top. But, that is a cleanser’s issue. The temperature control is very fine on the cooktop and I can count on heating accuracy to sear and saute just right.
I feel like a gourmet cook with two ovens now in the one range. This option is an excellent solution since I don’t have space for two wall ovens. I only used my old range’s storage drawer for reusable containers and I found a better place to keep them. I have no problem getting hot food out of the lower oven. I’m an older woman of average strength with a good back and I use my legs to bend and lift. If there ever is an occassion, such as Thanksgiving, where I have a large, heavy turkey in the oven I’ll get one of my young guests to help.
I love cooking and baking again and I anticipate many, many years of quality feasts with minimal fuss! Thank you GE!

THIS ITEM WAS PURCHASED TO REPLACE A MAYTAG UNIT THAT FAILED. THE QUALITY OF THIS UNIT IS MUCH BETTER THAN MY ORIGINAL. I LIKE THE FEATURES. THE ONLY PROBLEM I HAVE HAD IS SETTING THE CLOCK. THE INSTRUCTIONS ARE NOT VERY CLEAR. OTHER THAN THAT I AM VERY PLEASSED.
