Disappointed

I have and original sound touch that has airplay which is great. The plan was to add additional speakers in my house but now they have changed so I had the same throughout and have them all running with airplay. I am very disappointed. The speakers sound is great but the software has some glitches as well.

Hello there,
Thank you for the review. We appreciate hearing what our customers have to say. While the new Series III SoundTouch products do not include AirPlay, they do have Bluetooth which we believe is a more popular technology increasing the amount of devices that you can use with your SoundTouch products. In addition to connecting via Bluetooth, you can rebroadcast that Bluetooth through your other SoundTouch products, including the earlier SoundTouch systems.
We would definitely like to help you with the issues you are having with the software. We have a dedicated support team for our SoundTouch products. Please call us at 800-905-2156. We are here to help Monday through Friday 9am to 9pm and Saturday 9am to 7pm EST.

I can't believe Bose removed Apple AirPlay!

This is the third sound touch I've purchased, and unfortunately I had to return it because some bright engineer decided to remove Apple AirPlay. I'm looking for a used soundtouch II online, because these boxes have incredible sound and I have an apple device household. Please bring back AirPlay in the next version!

Hello Scott,
Thank you for reaching out, and for your past purchases. We appreciate the support. The new versions of the SoundTouch speakers now support Bluetooth instead of AirPlay to allow for an even greater number of devices to connect and for more applications to be able to play audio through the SoundTouch speakers. Plus, with Bluetooth rebroadcast, you are able to play audio from a device connected by Bluetooth to one SoundTouch speaker through all of your other SoundTouch speakers, even if that speaker does not support Bluetooth.

Not as Good as the Old Models

I have a bunch of Bose speakers, from wave to sound dock to sound touch to headphones (in ear, on ear, and over the ear) I have compare them side by side from old to new models. This model is not at all special. This is just average, actually way to expensive with its performance. I am very much disappointed. The sound dock series II is way way better than this one. My sound dock series II is 8 years old but sounds way better than this one.

It connects, then it doesn't, then it connects, then it doesnt. I've reladed the driver more times than I can count. A product this expensive should not create this much heartburn!

Where is the AirPlay ??

I just bought my second soundtouch 20 but this one does not have AirPlay like the series II. It has Bluetooth which is great but is not as simple as AirPlay on my Mac, iPad and IPhone. I like the sound but I Have to return this one.

Hello Juan,
Thank you for your review. We appreciate the feedback. The new SoundTouch systems do support Bluetooth instead of AirPlay. Bluetooth is a convenient wireless AUX-in that gives users access to more content and on more devices than AirPlay. Also, Bluetooth audio can be rebroadcast to all of your SoundTouch speakers, including previous versions of the SoundTouch products for easy whole-home audio.
If you ever have any questions about SoundTouch, we have a great online resource at www.soundtouch.com. We also have dedicated SoundTouch support agents at 800-905-2156. We are here to help.

It takes hours and hours to switch to new Wi-Fi.

I recently bought SoundTouch 20. Sound is good. But when you have to add system to new Wi-Fi, it's nightmare. Last time it took me half night to to this. This time I am still struggling. It keep you making you round in endless loops. Honestly you have to plan your day to add sound link to new Wi-Fi. I am always the bigger fan of Bose, but this time I am very disappointed.

Hello Paul,
Thank you for the feedback. We appreciate the review. The SoundTouch systems are designed to be easy to set up and use, so it is disappointing to hear that you are having trouble adding a new system to WiFi. Depending on how your home WiFi network is configured, you may need to use an alternate setup method but usually that is an easy process that can be done right from the SoundTouch app on your smartphone. However, if you ever need assistance, our team of dedicated SoundTouch specialists are available to help at 800-905-2156 M-F 9am to 9pm and Saturday 9am to 7pm EST. We have reached out via email to learn more to assist further as well.
